I have heard about this $4.95 steak dinner at Ellis Island. Where exactly is it? I have looked at several maps of Vegas and it is never listed on the map. How is the gambling there?

:) Wow, 2 in a row that I know.

Ellis Island is on Koval Street just south of Flamingo Road. Koval runs north and south parallel with the strip. Its the next street east of the strip. Ellis Island is connected to the Super 8 Motel. By the way. they have a microbrew there and the beer is pretty good. Try it. OR, try the Root Beer on tap which is excellent. Enjoy. :)

Ellis Island is on Koval (between Flamingo and Harmon). If you go to http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com and click on city map listed in the left hand column, it shows you where Ellis Island is.

I Read A Report, This Week, Saying The $4.95 Steak Dinner Is No Longer Available At Ellis Island. Has Anyone Else Heard This?

Not true. It's still available.

was there 9/16 & 9/17.

The special is actually imprinted on the felt tops of the blackjack tables. The waitresses almost seem surprised when anything else is ordered.

It is excellent deal. Fresh salad and fresh vegetables too.

There are several sources (ACG, POV) for 2 for1 dinner entrée at Ellis Island. So you can actually get TWO decent steak dinners for $4.95 + drinks and TIP.

PLUS the placemats now have a five dollar matchplay printed on them that you can tear off. (You used to have to ask for the MP when you settled the check).

Remember the MP’s have a theoretical value of 50% ($2.50) each.

Not the fanciest casino by far and you may feel more comfortable in that area in daylight but well worth the trip.

Ellis Island is on my list of places to eat and it's certainly good to hear that the Steak Special is still available. Mrs. PapaGeorgio has been clipping coupons for Vegas from "The American Casino Guide" and 2 for 1 dinner at Ellis Island is one of them. I wonder if we can use it in conjunction with other offers? :)

Hi,

This is my first time on this board and am loving all the advice. How do I get to The American Casino Guide? I'd like to get some coupons for Ellis Island.

Thanx

I got mine as a Christmas present and a very thoughtful gift it was. As for where it came from, I believe it was Amazon.com
Be careful 'cause when you do a search for the book, other years will still be listed. Make sure that you get the current year. Or wait for the 2006 edition to be released if it hasn't already.

DEvans,

I usually buy mine through Overstock.com. They always have it for less. Even with shipping included.

The 2006 edition will come out in early November and is good for the rest of 2005 plus 2006. The 2005 edition may be starting to get a little hard to find.

I think that the steak special is not on them menu - you have to request it. It's a great deal and really good steak.

We plan to have it again next trip.

I have been putting the $4.95 Steak Special in the newsletter for quite some time and I have never received a bad report on it. Members have advised that lines are very long during prime dinner hours and suggest that you go early or late.

I just want my members to know that for the last three years I have been working with the ACG publisher Steve Bourie in selling the guide to my members. I will be doing this again this year and although the price that Steve allows me to sell the ACG for might be slightly higher than these large sites, it helps me to offset the expenses I have in doing the work I do :) . So if you can wait, I should have the new info soon.

One more note about Ellis Island - a couple of years ago they had a different steak special that was only available one day a week. That was discontinued, but the $4.95 deal is available. Last year when we were there they also had a very inexpensive deal if you earned a certain amount of points that day. It was more than we wanted to play there, so we went for the $4.95. For $20.00 we each had a Bloody Mary, good steak dinner, and tip. That works for us!

One other item on the $4.95 steak special: When we were there last year, you could also get a $5 match play coupon from the cashier on the way out.

BUT, you HAVE to ASK FOR IT!

Win your bet, and you'll get dinner on the house!
