Weather in Vegas at Christmas is usually pretty mild. You will need a jacket when walking around at night in particular but some days are a little cool as well. Some people do carry heavy coats, but you probably won't need that. Just put on an extra sweater under a jacket.

What temps are we talking about? I'am from Fl. and 60 is chilly to me  We will be there 12/23-12/28
Are we talkin 40's, 50's ??
Most of our time will be spent indoors, but I don't want to freeze my butt off walking the strip......my heavy jacket is a wind breaker

We will be there the week before Christmas and will bring sweatshirts or jackets. It can get down to the 30's at night and it's usually in the 60's during the day. We are from Maine so for us that is not cold, just jacket weather.

Being a Southern Californian, to me Vegas in Dec. is cold!!!! We were there a couple years ago when it snowed...very neat experience!! Some of the casinos tend to overcompensate and turn the heaters up way tooo high!! Layers!!! Just wear layers when going to Vegas in the winter months. OH- Remember to go to the Bellagio Conservatory and check out the display!! It's beautiful at Christmastime!!

We are coming to Vegas in December for the rodeo but we don't actually have any tickets in our hands. Does anyone know if you can buy tickets outside the coliseum or any other great ideas to get tickets. Thanks!

At night, you will see your breath in front of you. During the day, if you're walking around outside, it should be quite comfortable if you are in the sun. In the shade is another story. I was walking down the strip in my winter jacket and it was going on and off as I moved in and out of the sun. I'm from Southern Calif. so my sensitivity to the cold is probably one step below yours.

HEY! Winter or Summer, it can be chilly...I'm talkin' inside the casinos.
The 'AC' doesn't keep track of the seasons and when you're sitting in
one place for a while...slot, table game, or in a Showroom, 'layers' are
always a good idea.
For weather in general, check the 7-Day forecast before you leave.

I have been in Vegas between Christmas and New Years Eve. Temperatures were in the upper 50s to low 60s during the day, upper 30s to low 40s at night. Long sleeves during the day, jacket at night will do just fine.

Hi - New to this forum, liking it!
We go every december (during rodeo week) and being from Upstate NY where it is COLD here in the winter, Vegas Days in December are nothing to us ehhh :) It can be anywhere down to 30s (one year it was warmer here) and usually nice enough during the day where you don't need a jacket. Last December I don't think I wore a jacket at all, short sleeves during day and sweater at night. :)

Hello
I will be heading to Vegas the week before Christmas. Has anybody been there at that time and if so what type of weather am I in for? Thanks
Hello,
Haven't been there that late in December, however, we are going the first week in December, and have been there before at that time. It is winter for them. However, during the day, it can be 50-60, and evening can be 30-40 and rather cool. We are from the east, so we are hearty, and only bring sweatshirts and fall type clothing, but I must confess, I also bring my gloves. Have fun
We were there last Christmas and found the weather to be very mild. A bit chilly at night, but if you're walking outside, you'll just need a light jacket or sweater. Inside the casinos are always cold to me so a sweater or long sleeves are a must. I took a heavy coat, hat, and scarf last year and ended up lugging it through the airport and never used them again the entire trip. Don't overpack! Have fun :)

Going out from December 16th through 19th.
What Sports Books are the best to watch NFL games?
Are there any special "Holiday" events in Vegas in December that are must sees?
Thanks

Chris, this will give you an idea of the weather at that time. We have been going the week before, and including Christmas, for many years and have experienced all types of weather. It's still much nicer then the Northeast in December.

Not a whole lot, but some interesting things.
The Conservatory at the Bellagio is always an incredibly beautiful holiday display. Especially nice after dark, they dim the lights every once in a while so you can jus see the gigantic Christmas tree lights.
When i was there 2 years ago there was a free stage show downtown at the Fremont Street experience, along with more Christmas trees.
Probably most unique is at Ethel M's - which is the candy factory that makes gourmet chocolates (you get a free sample!) They have an interesting half acre cactus garden - and they spend a month decorating each cactus with lights. It is truly amazing to see!
I believe there's also some kind of holiday shows. I know one year Tony Orlando and Dawn had a holiday show.

I found Dec. weather delightful, we wore shorts and a light sweater. But I guess it depends on where you come from. Being from Canada Dec. is like our spring

You can get tickets at the cowboy christmas, where there is a ticket exchange booth. They charge you a couple bucks above face value so they can cover the costs of the service, but it works pretty good. I think they go on sale around 10am, so best to get there early. Also lots of scalpers around, but they charge an arm and a leg.

Was there last year for NFR and found 2 problems:
First, since it was chilly outside, a lot of the casinos had the heat turned up so you would feel toasty when you came in, but after 30 minutes or more, it was just too hot to game comfortably.
Second, Vegas must have a "Slow Season" lasting from about December 15th til just before New Years, so you may find a lot of the restaurant, buffets, etc closing down for a couple of weeks for cleaning/remodeling/staff vacations...the sunday night after NFR finals we were downtown and were seriously worried if we were going to find any place to eat...buffet at Golden Nugget was closed, Binions Steakhouse was closed, buffet at Fitzgerald's was closed. It caught us by surprise! We did finally find the buffet at Main St Station still open, so we didn't starve!

I go every year in early December and am going again this year the week before Christmas.
The temperatures seem to me to be 50's during day and 40ish at night. It's not bad at all.
Many things are closed during that week before Christmas, but the gambling is still good.

We are going the first week in December, and in the past at that time, it can get down into the 40's at night. During the day, when the sun comes out, it can get up to 60. My advice would be a light jacket with a sweater underneath, as the casinos are cold. I also needed gloves at night. Have fun

Being from the Northeast, Vegas in December is a treat :)
We only have needed jackets at night, and even then, I just wear a jean jacket - nothing bulky or "wintery" - Depends on the weather you used to. 40 is warm to us coming from below freezing and snow! lol

Man, I'm from Buffalo and spend my winters in either Cleveland or Buffalo. I'm wearing shorts the entire time I'm in Vegas and will wear sunscreen just to say I did.
Not on the top of my to-do list, but do they even open the pool during December? I wouldn't think so, but not many of the pool reviews I've seen have said they close...
I may have to go back in the summer just for the "Skinny Dip Tuesdays" which I believe are at the Palms.

You can buy tickets at the Cowboy Christmas Gift Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Centre - you might have to stand in line but they sell them at face value. There are also tickets available at the Thomas and Mack Centre - standing room but you can grab a seat if nobody is sitting there. There is also a small booth at the Country Christmas at the Sands Expo where people bring tickets to sell and they announce the tickets over the loud speaker,
There are also tickets available on Ebay but are expensive

Was at Bellagio 2 Decembers ago. The weather was lovely! (or maybe 3 years ago, can't remember) -- I didn't bring my suit and wished I had. The pools were open.

Was in Vegas last year 2nd week of Dec, weather was great high 60's during the day and 50's at night. We are going again this year same week.
I would think that coming from Florida you will be chilly so bring layers of clothes. Have a great time.

We've gone to Vegas at Christmas every year since 1999. The first couple of years were pretty mild. The last 2 years were cold to us. It was in the 30's at night and when the wind blows, it's freezing, imo. It snowed the last 2 years in a row. Last year we were able to take our son to play in the snow and make snow angels. It actually made the news here where I'm from, and it showed a lot of people playing in the snow. Imo, the casinos are too darned hot in December. You have to dress in layers so you can be warm outside, if you're walking around at night, and be able to take it off when it the casino.
We were there last Christmas and found the weather to be very mild. A bit chilly at night, but if you're walking outside, you'll just need a light jacket or sweater. Inside the casinos are always cold to me so a sweater or long sleeves are a must.
