Hi,
I traded for some Palms buffet 2 fers ( the trade didnt involve vegas stuff, nor anything relevant )... Any one ever eat there? Reviews sound kind of poor.....just wanted another opinion...lunch or breakfast? Thanks.:)

I've not eaten there because I'm an early riser and the one time I tried to eat there, they didn't open for breakfast until 8:00. I made a quick check of their web site and couldn't find the hours they're open, so I don't know if that's still the case.

From what I've read, it's not bad for the price. And with a 2for1 it should be well worth it. Their Chinese is the best part of the buffet if that makes a difference.

Breakfast is served 8AM - 10:30AM Mon-Sat
Sunday brunch 8AM-3PM
Lunch 11-3PM Mon-Sat
I feel the Gold Coast buffet diagonally across the street is far superior as is the overpriced Rio's.

I ate there just after the property opened. There were articles stating that the buffet was a loss leader. I wondered if their accountant was Arthur Anderson.
I would go back IF I had a 2-4-1 or other discount. (IMHO this applies to the RIO ).
If paying full price go to a better buffet.

I love to gamble at the Palms. IMHO they have one of the worst buffets in Vegas. I can find little that is appealing to look at and/or tasty.

I posted this in another thread about buffets, but I like the Palms Buffet because of what I eat. I go to the Stir Fry Guy and pick out some vegetables and get chicken stir fry. Then I go to the Meat Carving Station and get whatever they are carving. Those 2 things are great. It depends on what you are eating, I don't even look at most of the buffet so I can't judge the stuff sitting in troughs under lights, desserts, salads, or breads.
It definitely doesn't open until 8am.

Just got a press report from the Palms saying the buffet has been "downsized." No other information was given.

Most likely in an effort to make a mediocre buffet worse.

My wife and i tried the Palms buffet on Italian night and it ranks right up there as the worst buffet along with the Strat. and the Sahara.
We went back there for dinner a few months later because we figured it couldn't be that bad, but it was. Stay away from this buffet.

I'll come back and post details on the downsizing on March 28th.
The Fantasy Tower Elevators are between the buffet and 24/7 Cafe so they probably had to downsize the buffet for that reason.
For the haters, what is it that you hate about the Palms buffet?
