I remeber it well, on the night of Dec 31, 1997 my fiancee and I were lucky enough to see the Hacienda almost fall down. The next day we celebrated by getting married! On our 5th we returned to Vegas for a wild week at the IP, had a great time. Now we are planning our 10th and rooms in Vagas seem to be hard to find. Are we just looking to early to actually get a good rate for the week starting New Years Day? Is there something special going on in Las Vegas at that time that we don't know about? So far I have only been able to locate either very high end rooms or hotel rooms not connected to a casino. While we don't mind paying for a room, every penny, or dollar, that goes for a pillow to lay our heads on is one less that we have to gamble with! While my wife has been there many time, it will only be my 3rd trip so be gentle I am still a rookie.

You are probably looking too early, however, I can't imagine that room rates are that high at this point starting on 1/1/07. Check different hotel websites.

It is ti early to book a room.If you could hold off for a day and book a room on Tues the 2nd of Jan. you will get a good rate on airlines and Hotel rooms because the first part of Jan is usually a slow time in Vegas and most Hotels will have discounted rooms. Jan 1st all the hungover new years eve crowd will be leaving. Have a great time.:)
