I think it would be interesting and worthwhile for folks to describe their experiences with some of the LV timeshares
For example, Polo Towers, Jockey Club, Hilton, Fairfield, Monarch Cancun, etc.
For starters, we exxchanged thru II for a 2 bedroom at the Monarch Cancun last week. Resort is very family oriented, with one of the nicest, biggest pools and waterslides we've seen. Staff is very helpful and accompdating. Location is on S. Las Vegas Blvd., but about 2 -3 miles south of the Mandalay Bay, across hiway 15 from the Silverton.
Although they have shuttles to key spots/casinos, a car is adviseable.
Recommended, especially for families with children.
How about your timeshare experiences in Las Vegas??.

For the cost of a one to two week timeshare, you could stay at the hotel of your choice on a regular basis, including airfare . . . . . And why, again, would one bring children to Sin City if one didn't work and live there . . . .?

Not everyone wants to go to Vegas on every vacation. Timeshares are a great concept for some folks and a very poor concept for others.
Vegas Vickie does not always want restaurant food, so a timeshare in Vegas with a kitchen would be a good thing. As it is we pack a cooler and snacks but a refirgerator and stove would be a plus.
I won't get into the kids in Vegas thing....that is a whole other topic.
We are attempting to exchange into the Jocky Club in December for a week. It has a great on-strip location next to Belliago so you can't go wrong with that! We will be bringing our 17 year-old with us because we don't want to leave him at home alone......its a parent thing.

We went to Vegas years ago and left our teenager at home. Came back and the house was a mess. So was he. Had to put him in rehab.

If you have a chance, check out the Polo Towers, roughly across the Strip from the Jockey Club. For us, a much nicer facility. We have stayed in both.
Both have an excedllent mid-Strip location.

We own three weeks at the Jockey Club and love it. We paid resale for each one and don't stay there every visit to Vegas either. We come for the CES convention each January and usually are in town for 10 days so we use the time at the JC. We love the location. Our main. fees are extremely love compared to all of the other timeshares inLas Vegas and I can tell you NO Where on the strip for 7 nights can you stay and the price be less than the cost of our m/f unless you are a high roller and being comped. Our other trips we stay and use our hotel offers if a better price than using our time. We don't have washers and dryers in the units but do on several of the floors in each building and not plush like the Hilton Grand Vacation club but still very very clean and in good upkeep and the staff and other owners are terrific. We didn't pay over 2 grand a piece for each of our weeks. We will never pay the prices offered on these tours but we go sometimes to see the new places and get the freebies. At the end when they know you aren't buying....they know where you own and then start guessing what price you will buy at when you say the price is still way too high..then they tell you,,,,you better go buy another one and get me one too at that price. We did and we haven't been sorry. Can't wait for the new resort to built around us either. Alot of our owners are upset their views will be gone. I don' t come to Vegas to sit in my room to look out the window. I am there to be out there on the street soaking in the view. I like having a refrig to throw in the leftovers from dinner to heat up for a late nite snack or lunch or even breakfast. We enjoy it and while it isn't for everyone, it is something that works for us when we are in town for business. When we come for pleasure...heck no I want to be able to go down the elevator and play and check out the people coming out of the niteclubs...the Barbary is our second home...but when we come to town and need some quiet at the end of the nite, the Jockey Club does it for us.

How much are the maintenance fees?
I am still hoping to the the week before Christmas at the JC. Two grand for a Vegas week sounds real good if the fees are reasonable.

Sorry so long to get back to you....our main. fees are less than $400 and to us that is far worth it compared to the much higher ones over at Polo Towers and at the Hilton Grand Vacation club. As we bought all three weeks on resale, we look at it this way...we come to town several times a year and two times we are on business. The highest hotel rates compared to New Years eve, are for the CES (consumer electronic show right after new years. I was just looking at rates even at the Flamingo for extra associates coming in and the friday nite alone is $350. As we usually stay in town a few days before the convention and a few after, having such flexible usuage at the Jockey Club as you can use as few as one day or as many as your seven nites, we just can't beat it. You can't get 7 nites at the Ho, well not now anyhow, for the price of the m/f. Hope this helps and I can refer you to our sales company for resales if you'd like...

I own a 2br, 2 bath lock-off unit at Club de Soleil. Bought it on Ebay for pennies on the dollar. I have traded it for other vacations elsewhere but never in Las Vegas as I rather stay on the Strip. Almost all timeshare resorts have units for resale on websites at sometimes 1/5 of the price through the sales staff at the resorts.
