This week's question comes from "Boston Bill."
What celebrities have you run into at the airport, hotels or any other place in Las Vegas?

I held the door open for Tony Curtis after eating three tables away from him at Prime at Bellagio a couple of years ago.

I was at the gold bar in Treasure Island and turned around and there was Grizzly Adams next to me giving out autographed pictures of himself and his bear. They were both staying in the hotel.:)

In all the years we have been going to Vegas have never seen a celebrity of any kind, but my two daughters did two years ago. They were in the nightclub Light at Bellagio and my daughter started talking to this guy, didn't know who he was until he introduced himself as "P"-diddy. He was with Leonardo DiCaprio and a couple others but can't remember their names at the moment. They spent quite a bit of time talking to them and then went to Drais at Barbary Coast with them too. My younger son was very upset with his sisters for not getting an autograph from P-diddy.

I have been to Vegas 23 times and in all those trips the only celebrity I think we saw was Rod Stewart on Fremont St. We didn't know if it was him or an impersonator. My friends would not let me go up and ask him.
I am still waiting to run into Jennifer Tilly. I would love to party with her in Vegas sometime. I think she would be a lot of fun. She could also show me how to play Poker.

I played 25 cent poker next to Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers at the Orleans and later that night rode the elevator with him.
I saw Rip Taylor walking thru the Stardust. I have been to Vegas almost 30 times and I can't believe I haven't seen more celebs. Usually I am looking for a HOT SLOT and not paying too much attention to people.
Boy am I telling my age if I remember these 2 guys??

I have seen and spoken to many throughout the years but two are memorable because of the conversations involved.
1. Dionne Warwick at airport Kiosk.
me: Hi Dionne
Dionne: gives me a dirty look
me: Dionne, can I take your picture?
Dionne: No, put that away
Me: I'm taking it anyway (I did)
Dionne: F--K You
Me: F--K You too
2. Jimmy JJ Walker at Stardust Sportsbook(He sits in the vacant chair next to me)
Me: Hi Jimmy
Jimmy: You know who I am?
Me: Of course, I proceed to sing one line from "Good Times"
Jimmy: That's pretty funny. I usually come in here unnoticed
There were many others but only these involved two way conversation.

The one that I remember the most was NOT a very pleasant experience. It was right before the 2000 World Series between the Yanks and the Mets and our group, being huge Yankee fans, just landed at LAS proudly in our Yankee apparrel. We have a group of about 7 people, but we were not the only ones wearing Yankee shirts, etc. Everyone was standing around waiting for their luggage, when one of us noticed Tommy Lasorda waiting for his luggage, as well. Being big baseball fans, as well as Yankee fans, many of us clamored around him, some wishing him good luck as he was going to coach the Olympic baseball team that year. Anyway, a nice clean-cut guy, not in our party, in his mid 20's was wearing a Pettite shirt honoring Andy Pettitte who would be pitching for the Yanks that night. Well, an obviously drunken Lasorda, looks at him and says with a sneer on his lips "you're rooting for THAT f***ing' team?" We were all amazed and nervousely laughed as we thought that he was probably joking. The young guy says "yes, of course" giving it back to him a little. Lasorda then says "turn around" and the kid did and Lasorda saw that he was wearing a Pettitte shirt and said "Well, at least your not wearing an f***in' Clemens shirt!" Now we all knew he wasn't kidding and there were TONS of kids around listening to him! All of the adults brought them around to see this baseball legend who was talking...or shall I say, yelling and swearing like a truck driver. His last statement, though, nauseated me. He said "I hate Clemens. I hope (Mike) Piazza (I'll never forget it, he said PiazzER with his accent) comes to the plate and hits a line drive off his head and kills that b*stard!). It was absolutely shocking to say the least.
Now, whenever I see him or hear him on a talk show and they call him "an Ambassador of the game" I have all I can do to hold myself back from calling these shows and recant the story of how the "Ambassador of the Game" made a drunken spectacle of himself in McCarran airport in front of many horrified baseball fans and their children. Shameful.

YEARS ago I was riding the Elevator in a Hotel (I can not remember) with Buck Owens and Roy CLark.....later that evening I rode it again (We were on the same floor) with Buck Owens and his drummer ..the drummer whispered to me to meet him after the show to "party" just him and me....ah.....I was 18 years old and sooooo not into "old guys"...but I just said "No Thank you".
30 years later....Road an elevator at the MGM with David Cassidy and his guards...Now I was not really a fan in his youth, but I certainly am now!! He has the most wonderful eyes I have ever seen on a man!! Very Nice guy.. we chatted, laughed and he gave us passes to see his show......great seats!!! Great Guy!!!!:D

Over this past SuperBowl weekend I saw Vince Neil from Motley Crue with his Amazon girlfriend. That same weekend I had a chance to speak with Jeff Davis from the show "Who's Line Is It Anyway." Very nice guy playing some craps before his show at the MGM Grand. I also played craps with the former knuckleball pitcher Charlie Hough. Unfortunately his knuckball technique didn't work on the crap table.

In the late 70's I ran into Mr. T and I do mean I ran into him. I was at the Aladdin, my first trip to Vegas, playing bingo, when mother nature called, I was running down the hall to get to the ladies room FAST as I rounded the corner, WHAM, right into Mr.T, very large man with lots of gold chains, at that time I think he must have been a body guard for a boxer, I could be wrong but think maybe Mike Tyson. Did I finish my trip to the ladies room? No need but did make a quick trip to room to change clothes. He was very nice with a great sense of humor and has a great Laugh can still hear him laughing!!

Soon after the Venetian first opened I was in LV and one afternoon my friend and I decided to check out the casino and play some blackjack. A huge crowd had gathered around a roulette table and I went to investigate. It turned out that some 'whale' was playing blackjack all by himself at one of the wheels. He was betting between $10 and $15 thousand per spin putting chips on almost every number but varying the amount on each. He would always win but sometimes alot and sometimes a little. Turns out he was NOT a celebrity but on my way back to the BJ table I decided to visit the men's room and as I came out, there was Jay Leno with a camera crew wandering around the casino looking for people to talk to. He does that alot nowadays but back then that was something pretty new on his show. The had just finished and were headed for the doors that the dealers disappear behind during their breaks but I was close enough to say hi and shake his hand.
A friend of mine was at one of the Ceasar's Forum shops a few years ago when Michael Jackson came in and started buying everything in sight. He said that Michael just walked around and pointed at things he wanted and the clerks just grabbed the stuff for him. Would loved to have seen that!!!

Let's see if I can remember them all:
1- I had a drink with Red Fox years ago at the Frontier
2-Watched the Treasure Island Pirate Show from a window at Buccaneer Bay next to John Goodman from Roseanne.
3- Ate lunch next to Rod Steiger at the Grand Lux..My Mom walked right up to him and said "Are you ......" he said yes and was very polite.
4-Pat Morita at Top Of The World.
5- Keyshawn Johnson at the airport.
6- John Larrouquette at a concert.
7- Robert DiNiro, Joe Pesci and Don Rickles filming CASINO
8-Breck Wall from "Bottoms Up" when he showed up at our wedding.
9-David Copperfield after he made me disappear
10-Oscar De La Hoya at The Rio
11-Marty Allen
12-Clint Holmes at The Range. I just happened to have written an article about him when I wrote for Casino Player and I had the article with me. He signed it and came over to the table and met my entire group.
13- "Wild" Bill Elliot the racecar driver
14-Rick Thomas. Had a nice conversation with him after his show.
15-All of the Scintas..All very nice people
I'll probably think of more.
16-Also saw Mike Krzyzewski of Duke basketball at Bellagio getting some very good service.
17-Billy Kidman the wrestler at Mandalay Bay..very nice, stopped and talked.
18-Mark Roth the Professional Bowler at the Orleans

I actually haven't seen any in Vegas itself, but at O'Hare, while waiting to head off to Vegas, I was behind a guy who had the scraggly long hair and beret, and I said "Who does this guy think he is, Gallagher?" Lo and behold, that's who it was!

Well Steve already told most of the sightings but I did see Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones and Alice Cooper at a Celine Dion concert. Also saw Richard Dawson at a David Cooperfield show. Justin Tranz sat next to us at a show at the Riviera. My first trip we saw Marty Allen driving down the strip. Saw Jimmy Hopper at the Scintas. I was REAL excited when I stood next to Oscar de la Hoya at that stupid Delaguarda show at the Rio. It was the ONLY good thing about that show!

Saw Telly Savalas at the Dunes (now where Bellagio is)...and what was he doing???playing poker of course. I was so tempted to go into the nearby sweet shoppe and buy him a lollipop, but thought that since he was gambling, better to not disturb him.
Saw Sherman Hemsley (George Jefferson "who was movin on up to the East Side") walking through the High Limit Slots area at Caesars Palace about 4 years ago.
Also saw Jerry Springer (or at least he was a "dead ringer for Springer" coming off the elevators of the Palace Towers at Caesars.
Watched Michael Jordan play high limit BJ at Mohegan Sun (CT) a few years ago.

Very first trip to vegas played blackjack next to Vida Blue. Didn't know who he was at the time (old time baseball player) till he left the table and the dealer told us who he was.
Our most recent trip about 5 months ago, was at the mirage waiting for my friends who where chasing autographs from poker players who where ther for some big heads up tournament, when stnding to my left was Toby Maguire. (Spiderman). I think he played in the tournament too, as he is a big poker player. Also checking out at a shop at Wynn's just in front of me was Ashley Simpson and her mother. She didn't have any makeup on and I would of never guessed it was her. Until she put her credit card down on the counter and I saw her name on it.
Leaving for vegas in 23 days and hoping to see Lady Luck!!!!!!

I've had two...
Last March, I was in the Aladdin poker room and saw John Juanda. He was playing so I didn't feel the need to bother him.
Several years ago, while staying at the Hard Rock, I shared an elevator with Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray. He was having a conversation with the person he was with so we exchanged only pleasantries.

Joe Montana at the Riviera. But, my most memorable one was getting Muhammad Ali's autograph at the airport in Los Angeles while I was waiting to catch a plane to Las Vegas. He had a lot of people around trying to get his autograph and security came by to chase everyone away. His wife (I think it was his wife) told security that Muhammad enjoys all of the people. This was just after showing the effect of Parkinson's, but his autograph is still clear. Now, that's a real Champ. He sure is better than Dionne Warwick dropping those "F" bombs.

On our first trip to Vegas - late 70's saw George Carlin playing blackjack and have seen him a couple of time on later trips -- always at a blackjack table.
Saw Jimmy Johnson (the football commentator) with his wife (?) and another couple playing quarter slots at Caesar's.
The following sightings were all at Harrah's:
Dennis Rodman - after he was banned from the Mirage
Harry Connick Jr. walking through the casino with his "people" carrying take out pizza boxes
Rode down the eleavator one morning with Richard Petty. He was dressed in his driver's suit on his way to a public appearance
October '04 we were eating at Asia at Harrah's when Al Michael's mom came making sure everyone in the place knew she's Al Michael's mom.
Perhaps we will see more when we go out for Preakness Saturday in May.

We usually stay at Treasure Island and several years ago, we wandered across the street and found Casino Royale. From there we wandered to O'Shea's. While we were in O'Shea's, my husband, his cousin, and a friend of ours happened to play video poker next to a guy that looked very familiar. It turned out to be Duke's Basketball Coach -- Mike Krzyzewski. After alot of whispering "yes, it is," . . . "no, it isn't," we finally got his attention and it was Coach Krzyzewski. Quite thrilling.

Firstly, I must comment on Zoomer's response. Dionne Warwick is a first class prima donna who thinks her talent is super special. Well, you just hit the right songs with composers at the right time. I cannot believe her - she belongs in the dungeon. Sorry.
We checked out of Caesar's one morning at 5 am, and who was there but Frank Sinatra playing Baccaret - no one around so it was great.
Then, one day I am filling my car with gas, and who comes along in his Corvette, but Wayne Newton. And, yes, he did fill his own gas tank.
I have met many others, but not in Vegas.

We were staying at the Riviera and saw DiNiro filming Casino by the pool.
I saw David Copperfield waiting for a flight at the LAS Airport. He was not very nice to his girl friend or whoever she was. Maybe an employee. He was much smaller than I thought and spent most of the time on his cell phone. This quite a few years ago.
Oh, I heard Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight being paged at one of the Casinos. Does this count?

Ok, lets not start bashing Ms. Warwick, even though she does have a nasty reputation with her "fans" and general public. Most celebrities are very fan friendly if you are not overly obnoxious.

We had a nice chat with Pat Morita at the Riviera several years ago. He kept introducing me to people as "George Gobel" because of my crewcut. When he noticed a military logo on my shirt (actually Army) he said, "Look at us, an old marine and an old Nip, here together in Vegas!". Of course he had had plenty to drink but what a really nice man.
Others we've seen or met include Gabe Kaplan, Stella Stevens, Howard Morris (Ernest T. Bass on Andy Griffith), Steve Landesberg, Bernie Kopell, Muhammed Ali, Kevin Costner, and others that I'm sure will come to me later.

I was in the lobby of the Bellagio talking to my daughter on my cell. She was living in Watertown, MA at the time. Walking into the lobby was Ed McMahon. I told my daughter to "hold on". I went over to Ed and asked him if he would say hello to my daughter, since he was a celebrity. He asked me where she is. I told him in Watertown, outside Boston. He said he would love to, since he went to college at Boston U. He asked me her name and I told him. He gets on my phone and says, "Heerrrrreees Tori" like from the Carson show. They went on talking for about 5 minutes. I thanked him. She thinks I'm crazy. It was fun.

Too many years ago I saw Sammy Davis Jr. walking through the MGM. I played penny slots next to Della Reese at TI, for at least fifteen minutes, and had never looked at her, until she said something to me. Gave me an autograph, as she laughed and said she never had seen someone so focused. I told her it was because I was so broke! Saw Shaq at The Palms, as my friends and I got caught in the middle of his entourage, and he held the door for us and winked!

On my last trip to Vegas, I met a major Vegas icon, Bob Stupak, at the Prime Rib Loft in The Orleans hotel. For those of you who aren't Vegas History buffs and have no idea who he is, he's been involved in several Vegas casinos throughout the years, most notably, Vegas World, on the site of the current Stratosphere, and he had the Stratosphere built as well. He's also a poker player and can be seen on the WPT or on coverage of the WSOP. He's a controversial and colorful character, to say the least, just read up on Vegas World and you'll see what I mean!
Anyway, he's sitting at the bar, talking to a young lady and I'm at the bar waiting for them to call our party to be seated. Everyone else in our dinner party had gone down to the casino or to the bathroom! The young lady talking with him leaves, and I went up and said, "Excuse me, but aren't you Bob Stupak?" He answers affirmatively (keep in mind, there is no question...he was in a horrible motorcycle accident several years ago and he's unmistakeable). I proceed to tell him that I've followed his casino career and watched him play poker on numerous occasions and that it's an honor to meet him, etc...He makes small talk, asking me where I'm from, etc...I was thrilled! I love "old school" Las Vegas, so it was cool to meet him!

I was at Olives for dinner a couple of years ago and saw Stephanie Seymour with her family. Then the same night at Olives, Diane Keaton was there with her new baby and Nanny. She walked the baby around and walked past our table and talked to us! What a thrill.

Ray Liotta...We were in line a few years ago at Desert Inn to see Don Rickles and Ray Liotta cut in front of me to get his tickets for the show. He was with some friends and a couple actors I recognized but not by name (not as famous as he was). No apology for cutting in, but it's ok, I got to see him up close :p Then at the show Don Rickles on the way to the stage kissed my hand and said hello to us!
My hubby ran into Derek Jeter at Bellagio last year. Got to play blackjack next to him and talk. He said he was very nice!

Back in the eighties, hubby paid the usher quite a sum of money for good seats at a Liberace show. We were in a booth right where we could see his hands sweeping over the keys. We must have had the next to the best seat in the house because Veronica Hamel (Hill Street Blues) was sitting in the booth next to us.
Last year, at a Clint Holmes Show, we again had great seats. Second booth from the aisle. During the show, Clint came down and shook hands with the people next to us and was gushing all over them (literally as he was perspiring profusely) because they were someone famous, but I don't remember who it was as it wasn't anyone that I was familiar with. His Mom was sitting across the aisle.
That's it for us. When in Vegas, we are so focused on what we are doing or where we are going, that Tom Cruise (pant, pant), Brad Pitt (again pant, pant), George Clooney (oh, another pant, pant), Sean Connery (oh God, I'm hypervertilating), could walk right by and we'd never know.

Many moons ago, about 10 years ago, when my daughter was about 10, we went to a grocery store on Tropicana about midnight to pick up some grub as we were tired of buffets. Over in the produce section she said "look Dad, there's Wayne Newton". This guy's resemblance to Wayne Newton ended at the mustache. I let her believe she had seen Wayne Newton for several years before telling her the truth.:)

A few years ago, we attended the Prince concert at Aladdin and as we were walking to the concert hall, Halle Berry and then boyfriend Eric Benét (I don't think they were married at that time) walked past us.
Now, you probably won't believe this but --- this was shortly after she had the hit and run incident -- she walked briskly down the hallway and bumped my husband. She didn't stop, just kept walking at a fast pace. My son who was behind us told us that it was Halle Berry. We didn't believe it but he pointed out that the man next to her (with long hair) was the musician. Sure enough we spotted them down near the front of the stage. We joke that we were involved in a Hit & Run with Halle Berry. Later, after the show, we spotted them again walking through the slot machines. Again, walking fast and with her head down. I guess she didn't want to be recognized.:o

We were at the Palms a couple years ago and saw someone with body guards come out of a door on the side of the casino and we think it was Kid Rock but we aren't sure. He was tall which makes me think it wasn't him, he doesn't seem tall to me but maybe he is. Anyway, he had a hat and sunglasses on but my dh said it was him.
We saw some race car driver at the high limit tables at MC in January. I don't remember his name but dh said he is well known. I will have to ask his name again, Rick something? maybe

First was on our honeymoon. We were at Caesars and every day reserved the same cabana. The last day we were told it was not available but given the one next to it. The curtains were drawn most of the day. Came back from a dip in the pool and saw Steven Speilberg pop out of the cabana.
My husband swears he saw Oliver North at the craps table years ago.
We were in town when Looney Toons was filming and saw Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman shooting the same scene for hours.
We were at Caesars last year for Ashley Simpson's birthday party. Must of lost our invitation in the mail! Same trip we saw Paris Hilton and her 1st Greek boy toy getting into a limo at Caesars.
Elvis renewed our wedding vows in 2005. What a blast!
We are huge fans of CSI and would love to be there when they are filming, No such luck!

We've seen a number of celeb's but the most recent - a few months ago at PURE we were watching the Pussycat Dolls perform in their lounge, it was a Tuesday, we saw Cameron Diaz, JT, Paris Hilton and Gwen Stefani (our favorite singer).
Paris was with 2 other girls, Gwen was with her husband and very pregnant.
I believe PURE is open Tue, Fri-Sun. We were told that Tue was the best night to go - less young screaming girls than on weekends, no long lines and more celeb's. They also advertise that it is 'locals' night which does keep out many tourists. Maybe that's why the celeb's go on Tue.

Saw Michael Jackson at the Mandalay Bay (at the time when they were filming that controversial tv interview with him). We were at the back of the hotel waiting for our pick-up and saw 2 SUV's there. Out came a huge body guard holding an umbrella and then Jackson came out with an entourage of children... He was very skinny and frail looking...
The next year, also at Mandalay, we stood next to Vince Neil from Motley Crue... waiting for his car at the same time we were.
Jim Belushi at the Foundation Room in Mandalay Bay.

While staying at the LV Hilton my wife was walking down the hallway and was stuck in "traffic" behind a huge man. She is only Five foot Three and couldnt pass this huge set of legs in front of her. Turns out she ends up stuck in line behind him at TCBY (yogurt shop) and as fans recognize him, she puts two and two together, its Shaquille O'Neil. He was very nice and accomodating to those around him. Her memory is that the dollar bills in his hand looked "fake' they seemed so small .
Last year we passed by a nearly empty table at a sports memoribilia store and Pete Rose was signing autographs. NO camera, so no photo, and we ALWAYS carry one! Exiting the New forum shops onto the strip practially dopped us into the middle of some promo that Joan Rivers was filming. Second time in 15 minutes without that camera. As i rcall there was some other really intersting event during that early evening, so strike three without the camera.
While these are not VEGAS events, I did live ten years in Aspen and the stars were always out. My sister has lived there 20 years or more now, and isnt really stunned. Well, she hops on the gondola ( enclosed lift to top of mtn) and opposite her is a tonight show camera crew with larry miller asking if she has met ANY celebrities recently. "No" she says. He agian asks, she still says "NO" After several more attemps he changes his tact and finishes her "interview" upon exiting the lift she realizes he was fishing for an answer she wouldng give: "why yes Larry Miller is right here......" Sometimes the answer is right infront of you. Do not know if that made the air, but she was told to watch for it...

When NYNY first opened, George Hamilton had a cigar bar there. I saw him strolling through the casino. The friend I was with went running after him, camera in hand. Poor George!
Saw Magic Johnson at Gladys Knight's show.
Saw Dennis Rodman smoking a cigar in the cigar lounge at the Hard Rock.
Saw tennis stars Monica Seles and Amelie Mauresmo walking through Bellagio.
Joey Buttafuco (he's a celebrity, right?) having a drink with friends at the Flamingo.
Once at NYNY, I was heading back to my room and security guards asked me to wait for a moment outside the elevator room. One said, "A celebrity is on his way down." Elevator opened and 6 huge body guards emerged, surrounding Michael Jackson.

This past November. dropped my keycard while walking toward the elevators in The Golden Nugget and as I bent to pick it up, was overtaken by the 2 guys behind me. As they passed me, one on each side, I looked up and realized it was Greg Raymer and Chris Moneymaker, 2003 and 2004 World Series of Poker champs! (I don't remember who won which year....) I was speachless, never expecting to see any celebs, especially on a wednesday night downtown! Turns out, they were filming a poker tv show at the GN that wasn't advertised or open to the public.
I'm going back in April, so I'll try to do a little more celeb watching, a little less drinking, and a LOT less LOSING than I did in November!!!

About three years ago the show Angel was filming at the Tropicana casino around 3 am. They were all so nice. We asked if we could take a picture and they said of course but you want to be in the photo too - so they handed the camera to one of the staff with them. It was great! Wife and I were at the blackjack tables at Mandalay Bay a few years ago. We were playing and laughing with people when a very attractive girl came up to me and whispered, " Do you know who that is next to you?" When I said "no" , She said "Dustin Hoffman" I about had a heart attack. I looked behind and saw a large suited man behind us that we assumed was a body guard. He was such a good natured guy. Much shorter in person, but lots of fun. We still tell this tale and it made our trip very special.:)

I'm usually not looking around for celebrities, so I've probibly been close to meny without knowing it. But I have met a few.
Saw OJ Simpson playing Blackjack at a private table with security all around. This was long before the murders and trial.
I met and shook hands with Jay Leno in front of Ceasars. He was very polite.
In the booth next to ours in Applebee's was Clint Holmes.
I met Siegfried on stage after one of their shows at the Stardust. He was very polite considering I had just breached prodical by walking backstage without an invitation.
Two years after performing with David Copperfield in a show in California, I met him again backstage after one of his shows.
Went to Rick Thomas's home to talk with him about a business deal and to see his cats. (A MUST SEE performer!)
I've seen and talked with Lance Burton several times. As wel as most of the magicians in town
Happy sightings!

Last July, we were at the airport leaving Vegas, standing in line for our boarding passes, when in walks Hulk Hogan and his son. Can't miss this guy, he is as tall, as tan, and as good looking in person as on TV!! He really stands out in a crowd!
He was at the next terminal from ours, so we got to watch him stand in line for his turn, and then step up to get his boarding pass back to Florida.
He was very nice, waving to everyone, and taking photos with the airport crew waiting on him, plus when he started to walk away, he let a few take photos. His son was more annoyed and kept saying..."come on Dad.." he wanted to get out of there and have everyone stop staring at them.
Hulkster was wearing his famous do-rag on his head and a tie-die T-shirt. He didn't need any bodyguards....he's that big!!
He even did the HULKster pose for a couple little kids and told them to stay in school, eat their vitamins and be cool!!

My first trip to Las Vegas in 1981, I was in an elevator with Richard Pryor. He was really soft spoken and polite.
I was heading to an elevator at the Rio and they were filming an episode of Kenny Rogers TV series..McCabe or something. He was in the gift shop getting made up in between shots and they asked me to be an extra in the movie.
We used to see Lance Burton at the old Hacienda all of the time where he was performing.
I was at Caesar's the night they opened Planet Hollywood and we saw everyone from Bruce Willis to Daisy Fuentes. Whoopie Goldberg went through the casino being carried on a dais by the Caesar's men and she was having a lot of fun. A lot of the celebs were in the casino and I honestly wasn't paying much attention until someone mentioned them. Except for Sly Stallone. His bodyguards made us all move from our slot machines so he could pass by with his entourage. I think he lost a lot of fans that day!
We saw Sen. John McCain playing craps at the Bellagio.
In December, we were having dinner at the Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian and Mike Tyson was there with his possee. I waved (God knows why) and he thought he recognized me and started to walk over. The guys at the table next to us were rappers and they actually knew him. Since I basically know nothing about rap music, I don't remember who they were, but they let me wear their bling all during dinner and they rapped for us. It was amazing, these "gangastas" were so nice and polite.
Oh, was in Paris lobby during Showest and the security guard I was talking to says there is Michael Douglas. There were only 3 men in the lobby at that time and none of them looked like Michael Douglas. He said he couldn't point to him but he definitely was in the lobby. Hmmmmm. Couldn't prove it by me. Later on saw Kenny Loggings in the passageway to the theater.

This past year I was having dinner at n9ne and Tom Brady and George Maloof were at the table right next to me.
On the same weekend in 2004:
I spent 2 days at Palms making fun of this short, tattoed freak and it turned out to be Dave Navarro.
I rode up in an elevator with 3 black guys and 1 white girl (who was very attractive). I was joking with the guys about why they only had 1 girl with them. They ended up being the Black Eyed Peas, the hot white girl was Fergie. This was before they were really big, so I had no idea.
I talked to Jeffrey Ross (comedian) for a while. I told him he was hilarious as a Roaster and asked about any upcoming roles. He said he was surpised I recognized him and he said he was guest starring on CSI.
I was in Vegas during TigerJam 2003 at Mandalay Bay.
I played blackjack with this guy who was being a jerk (mainly to the dealer) in 2003, he ended up being Earl Woods, Tiger Woods' dad.
I saw Pat O'brien (The Insider) with his girlfriend Betsy and some other hot girl. He was wasted and was being loud and obnoxious by the blackjack table I was playing at. The funny thing about this is Gary Dell'abate from Howard Stern was there this same weekend and mentioned on-air about seeing Pat O'brien drunk in Vegas the same night I did.
I've seen tons of NBA and NFL players.

In 2001 at Bellagio I had a very brief convo with Alex Rodriguez, MLB player. At the time, he was with the TX Rangers and I live in FW. I only had time to say hi and tell him that I was a local Rangers fan before one of his body guards literally stepped in between us and hustled him into the men's room. Hmmmm...oh well, I did get to stare into those beautiful baby blues, if only for a moment!
Also at Bellagio, in 2005, my husband shook hands with Doyle Brunson who was scootering into the roped-off poker tourney area. That same night, in that same location, we saw Daniel Negrano and Phil Helmuth. Pretty big thrills for us, as we're big WPT fans.
Our son played poker at a table next to Phil Ivy in 2004 at Mirage.
Saw George Carlin getting out of a limo at Bally's.
Flew home to DFW with 2 of the Texas Tornados ("Little Bit is Better Than Nada" on soundtrack of "Tin Cup") sitting directly behind us.
about 12 years ago, was at the Stardust sports book standing at one of the counters working the Racing Form. Tall guys next me asks if I found anything interesting. without looking up I mention that a certain jockey has a tendency to run out horses early and they fade--so put him on the bottom of the trifecta. He laughs and says he doesnt care who is going to finish third--who is going to win?? I finally look up and its Jimmy JJ Walker. We talked for a couple of minutes about an upcoming race and he left to place a bet. Seemed like one of the nicest guys you could meet.

As we left "O" one evening we saw a cute little girl attached to the hand of a tall man, as the rather tightly packed crowd shuffled out. Being grandparents, we said to her, "that was a good show...did you like it?" (We're from the south...we speak to everyone!) That child shot us such a glance !!
We then followed the arm she was attached to up to the face of who we presumed to be her father....it was "McGyver" (sp) whatever his real name is...He too gave us a go to hell look...oh well, I never liked that show anyway!

One time a few years ago, we saw two James at the LV Hilton, then saw another celeb. that year at the Hilton.
There was a celebrity golf tourney going on at the Hilton, and we saw James Garner and James Woods coming out of the "special" elevator and walking past us through the casino. They were part of a large group who exited the elevator and were being ushered quickly through the casino.
Later that year, during another trip, I saw John Waters, waiting for his car at the Hilton valet station, wearing a weird, albeit probably very expensive, sportcoat.

Man, I gotta get in the groove with the celebrity thing.
I don't watch much t.v. and havn't seen a movie in years.
The only musicians I'm familiar with are from the 70's.
I could be among royalty and never know it.

Okay, I have a new one to add to my list. Not sure if he's technically a "celebrity", especially in Vegas during the World Poker Tournament, but on my trip last week (7/1-6), I was staying at the Rio and they were also having some sort of dancing contest for kids. Anyway, I got on the elevator and one of the little brats got off with her mother laughing that she pushed all the buttons (which she did and I was on the 17th floor). Anyway, there were 2 other men on the elevator with me who weren't very pleased either, but we stayed on the elevator anyway. As we were rising, the older man excitedly said "Mr. Ferguson, I've been watching you in ESPN for YEARS." Well, if any of you know who Chris Ferguson is, you could tell right away that he is NOT an athlete. As I looked up, I noticed his long, flowing hair and cowboy hat and recognized him myself from the tournaments. Jesus told the man, in a kidding way, that he "watched too much television" as he shook his hand. The man got off, and then it was just me and Jesus (boy, that sounds funny). So, I turned to him and said "I guess you're a poker player?"...(what a stupid question). But he was very friendly and said yes. As we EVER SO SLOWLY rose, one floor at a time, we made some more small talk about the procedure of the tournament, etc. and then he finally reached his floor. As he left I shook his hand and wished him luck. He was so nice (and patient) that now I feel like I have a good reason to root for him. GOOD LUCK AGAIN JESUS!!!

Chuck Norris at Orleans, who I mistakenly thought was one of the guys bowling with me in a tournament.
Michael Jordan getting off an elevator at LAS...spontaeous clapping when people saw him.
U2 filming one a video in downtown Las Vegas.
Andrew McCarthy filming a movie in downtown Las Vegas.
Angela Lansbury
Tito Puente after a show at the Sahara....he slipped out the "back" door which happened to be in the video keno area. It was weird to watch the fans gather around, yet respectfully make space for him.

Rickey henderson (baseball)-treasure island. typical self centered jerk. was playing blackjack and i recognized him and said "oh my god, rickey henderson". he glanced at me and never bothered to even acknowledge my presence. i then proceeded to tell him that i was upset because his rookie card that i own has dropped in value from 400.00 to barely 100.00. i dont think he liked that very well. it is always nice to have the last laugh.
elton brand (basketball)-luxor. elton was playing 500.00 a hand at the black jack table. when he got up, he noticed that i recognized him and started a conversation with me. we talked basketball a little bit, but he seemed genuinely interested in what i do and where i live. super nice guy.
ty taylor and susie mcniel (rock star-inxs)-palms. we saw both of them as we were coming out of gardunos. both the wife and me are huge fans of inxs and the tv show to choose the new singer. both ty and susie (who was my favorite) were very nice and seemed surprised that we were such fans of the show. they told us that dave navarro was planning on producing both of their albums, and seemed like they thought they are very lucky people to have recieved the exposure that has been given to them. very nice people.
gary sheffield (baseball)-palms. after talking to ty and susie, we turned around and there was sheffield, giving anybody that might want to go up and say hi to him the stinkeye. jerk.

Played poker at the same table as Chris Moneymaker one night at the MGM. Phil Gordon was there also, at a different table. Moneymaker had a bad night and was not in the mood for small talk. He was also on our flight back to Denver and acknowledged that he recognized me from the table with a quick nod.
When I was about 10, they were filming the pilot to some show in front of Caesars. Can't remember the name of the show, I think Brian Keith and Daniel Hugh Kelley(?) were the stars. It made it to TV and we saw ourselves in the crowd during the scene. There was a cool car crash.

Over the years, I have been fortunate in seeing celebrities either in Vegas or going to and leaving town. The first was Pat Boone on a Western Airlines flight from LAX to LAS. You can imagine how long ago that was since we were flying Western! My friend and I saw Tammy Wynette at the Frontier. She dropped a cigarette lighter on the floor and we picked it up and returned it to her. She gave us a friendly smile and a "Thank you boys"! Stood in a celebrity line in back of Ben Vereen waiting for the Jubilee show at the then MGM (now Ballys). I was with some people in wheelchairs and we were being accommodated with line passes. Also saw Iron Mike Tyson at McCarran Airport with one of his body guards. I was surprised at how short he was. Saw Sugar Ray Leonard at the Hilton at a Temptations-Four Tops concert. Lastly saw George Foreman three times on the same day at the Hilton, then the airport and on the same United flight to SFO. He was with one of his many sons named George.

I was on the flight to vegas from LA on my honeymoon and a smiling andre aggasi helped me put my oversized (my wife shops a lot) hand carry on my overhead compartment. He's just simply a nice guy.
Saw Samuel L jackson at the airport.
Jim carey was making noise (jokingly) cause his limo couldn't drive up the entrance of when my I couldn't figure out how to start the rented porsche and it was holding up the traffic at the valet. He walked up to the car and said "You should've taken a limo buuud!!!" in a weird voice and gave me a weird look and walkd off funnily towards the entrance.
Everyone was laughing at him but I was speechless/embarassed/red faced so I got out and askd the valet to park it again and in good spirits asked for a limo, everyone clapped while he waved at me. LOL
DIdn't know then you have to step the clutch to start the engine..

This past trip we saw Tara Reid walking all by herself through the shops at the Paris (she's kind of a has been now, but I still figured she wouldn't be all alone). One of our last trips, a girl I was with saw Paris Hilton walking to the Fontana Bar at Bellagio, and back in 2001, I saw Nick Carter (who was very popular then with the Backstreet Boys) playing BJ at MGM. It was hilarious because all of these young girls were doing their darndest to get a good look and get up close, but security kept making them move along. It was funny because he was playing $10 BJ right on the main thoroughfare of the casino (the big bank of tables that was right past the lion habitat).

Celebrities? Ok, if you wanna call them that LOL. They aren't as glamourous as the ones roaming Vegas in the 50s and 60s... but here's some 'celebrities' I have run into while in Vegas:
Michael Jordan (in the Mirage High Rollers Pit in 1994)
Barry Sanders (walking around the Venetian in 2000)

About three years ago, I saw Brad Garret in the men's room of the Venetian. In 1990, I was walking by Cleopatra's Barge in Caesars Palace just into those twin mirrored hallways leading into the casino at the time (there were no Forum Shops then) and passed Muhamad Ali walking towards the Barge. Was on the plane with Eddy Vedder once leaving Las Vegas.
Saw Carrot Top in the Treasure Island valet getting into a Hummer but, I wouldn't qualify him as a celebrity.
Cheers!

4. One of the Bachlors
5. Johnny Rezenick (or ever how you spell his name of the Goo Goo Dolls)
6. Tommy Lee
7. Dave Navero (4 to 7 at the Palms, where else)
8. Robin Leach at Studio 54
9. Britney Spears at 54 also (she was crazy even then back in 2004 or 2005, she wouldn't let anyone touch her and her security practically made a wall around her)
10. Steve Guttenburg (police academy fame) at Lure at Wynn opening weekend
11. Jon Bon Jovi at Tabu
I know I have seen or talked to more, but blanking out on them... I have talked to everyone except Tommy Lee and Dave Navero and of course Brit when I ran into them... Most of them are pretty cool a few were not worth the time.

This past January I attended the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. Some celebs you do see there. I was by myself and was going to get a picture with one of the pornstars and had asked the guy who was standing beside me if he could take the pic for me. He said no problem. As I posed with the and he took the pic I realized it was Dave Navarro as he handed the camera back to me and said "Good pic". I didn't even get to take his pic or anything.
Also Dustin Diamond was walking through and was standing behind me at the Expo last year and some girls all yelled "It is Screech!" and I turn around and girls are asking for pictures with him. All because he had that sex clip on the internet. What a laugh.

Several years ago before he was Gov. of Calif. - I was at MGM and there was some huge fight in town and in walked Arnold with all his body guards. I was a bit surprised. Although he is built well, giving him the body mass, he was far shorter than I imagined. The swarm of people around him was astonishing. I stood up on my slot chair and watched. He did sign autographs until his guards reminded him they would be late for the start of the fight and off they ran. Cannot remember who was fighting but it was a huge one and there were billboards everywhere about it. (not a fight fan-so just glanced at them)
While the show Vegas was being filmed in Vegas, we were at the Bellagio to play poker and one of my friends decided to cash out and go play blackjack. About 10 minutes later he came running back to the poker room and grabbed us. James Caan was playing BJ and there was noone around. He sat down and played at the table with him and we watched. He is really small. I almost didn't recognize him. He finally spoke to my friend once to say good hand when he hit a BJack, but other than that he never spoke. We were so stupid not to have at least asked for his autograph.
In the poker rooms at the Bellagio, at the Mirage, and at Caesar's, I have seen (from across the room) in the high limit area Toby Maguire, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and many other stars playing with the poker VIP guys like Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negraneu, and Scotty Nguyen. They don't let you in to those rooms though unless you have a huge bankroll, so we could just watch from a ways back. I also see Jennifer Tilly often with Phil Laack and have seen Mimi Rogers at tournaments. I just feel intrusive to go up and ask for their autographs, so I never have. I do have Doyle's, Sheiky's, Scotty's and some of those that don't make you feel funny asking. I have alot of Poker stars, but not many real stars autographs.
I've also seen in the casinos several stars just walking through like George Strait, Norm Archibald, James Woods, and others.
One of these days I should start getting autographs, but I just don't like to go up to them and ask. The one I really regret not getting, now that he has passed away, was eating at a table next to Charleton Heston at a place in Paris. We were sitting there and my friend said that guy sounds just like someone I've heard on TV - and I looked and it was Charleton Heston - what a goof he didn't know who it was. Everyone else just laughed. He was right there and I didn't do it. Oh well.

Years ago at the MGM, Rodney Dangerfield asked me for directions to the bathroom (he was BOMBED). Sat next to Richard Petty in the dollar slots room at Harrahs, during Nascar weekend, 3 different years. Scotty Nyguen walking through Harrahs. Jamie Fox shopping at Forum Shops. Jackie Chan while they were filming Rush Hour 2. The wrestler that had part of his ear bit off (can't remember his name) I would have never noticed him, but my son knew he was, at the Rio.
My hubby notices more celebs than I do. He tells me I am to focused on my machines to pay attention to anything else. :)
