We are thinking of going to the Commanders Place in the Desert Passage when in Vegas in March. Anyone have an opinion on this place? Is the food good, too expensive, too hotly seasoned. Any info you can give would be great. We would use a certificate from Restraurant. com. Thanks again, PattyD

Commander's Palace is considered to be one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. Prices are reasonable compared to other high quality restaurants and your gift certificate makes it a relative bargain. We did not find the food spicy, just very flavorfull.

The service is GREAT! The martinis are GREAT! I thought the food was okay. It was not spicy. I had an etoffe (sp?), and it was actually a bit sweet. I didn't care for it at all. It may have been just what I ordered though. Try the Chocolate Sheba for desert. It was WONDERFUL!

Vegasjules mentioned great martinis. If you're talking about the 25 cent martinis at lunch, then Patty should be aware that the restaurant.com certificate is only good for dinner.
To get the lunch martini's you have to get a full course lunch - I think around $20. A bargain for high quality starter, main course and dessert!
Here is a link to their menus, which also include prices:

I love this restaurant - I think it's even better than the Commander's Palace in New Orleans. The space is beautiful, and the service and food are excellent. It can get a bit pricey at night, but if you're looking for a bargain, they have a Jazz Brunch most days and for one price you get a 3-course meal plus a drink. It's been a while since I've been there but I believe it was $35 the last time I was there.

I recommend it, too. Especially for the 25 cent martini lunch. It's one of the best bargains in town (if you like martinis).

You are only required to purchase an entree to qualify for the 25 cent martinis, but the 3-course lunch at $18.80 is a relative bargain. Entree only prices range from $11.50 - $24.50.

Sorry to reply to this iquiry late but wanted anyone to know reading this thread that Commander's Palace is a very good dining experience. Several of my group ordered the set menu which consisted of soup, entree, and dessert. Everyone enjoyed their food. The room is very pretty and kind of like an oasis in the craziness of Vegas. If you want to make a nice evening of it, go to Commander's early and then Jubilee for an old time Vegas big production show. You will enjoy both. P.S. I am a spice wimp and always have to ask, "Is the food hot?" I was fine at Commander's.
