That's from two trips there. The first one has pictures. The third is my review and another review spliced together.

Personally, I didnt' get much out of it. I thought it looked like a carbon copy of the Bellaio minus the great fountains and the beautiful conservatory! It seemed to lack imagination to me on Steve Wynn's (or his decorator) part. Just my 2 cents.

I thought the Wynn (although we didn't) Sports Book was one of the nicest in town. Especially the big screen TVs :) ;)

Wynn's sports bar very nice. I was in Vegas in May right after the opening.

Honestly, when people tell me they think it's like Bellagio re-done, my gut feeling is that y'all are missing something.
For me it's about scale, intimacy and smaller spaces. I find it much more comfortable but at first I wasn't totally sure about it. It took two trips to make me a believer...
And:
1. Staying there is WAY different than visiting.
2. Staying in the South Tower Suites part of the hotel is a totally different experience than the main part of the hotel.
Personally, I didn’t get much out of it either.
I still don’t know what all the hype is about, maybe the Wynn name.
The Bellagio is still number one my books.

Yes, the Race and Sports Books are very nice. If you are there say Hi to Martha who is a Supervisor and John Avello who is the Executive Director. Tell them your newsletter members and Steve told you to say Hi.
It just might get you VIP seating if it's not too crowded. :D

I also loved it! The room was very nice, loved the great view of the strip from the bed. We had a positive experience (eventhough we lost). Enjoyed the gambling, pool area, food, great drinks, friendly service, etc. etc. The only negative we had was in the Spa. :p

I've been over twice, beautiful but same old/same old, gaming no different
than any other Strip property, the little 3min. show on his lake (I call it a pond) is an expensive overblown disapointment, I'll only go back in the future for a Show, BUT...the Chili in his Cafe is great!...expensive, but very good!
Folks who have 'stayed' there have a different opinion...that seems to be
the 'Key' to winning folks over, but it's an expensive experience...everything
cost you money one way or the other.

I went by the Wynn last time we were in LV. I think it is an amazing place. Good VP on the bartops at the Sportsbook (not full play but better than most of the strip hotels bartops). The whole feeling of the place is wonderful. It is the little touches in my opinion. The decor, the glasses cocktails are served in, the mosaic tiles, everything!! I love Wynn and hope to stay there on a future visit.

[QUOTE=GREGRIO]I've been over twice, beautiful but same old/same old, gaming no different

When I first walked into Wynn I agreed with you, but once you really explore the place you will find several good VP payouts and the biggest surprises of all in the blackjack pits towards the back. They have the best low roller and up, double deck game on the strip at $15 min. Only the Plaza has a similar game. The 6 deck dealer stays on soft 17 shoe games are much better than you will find at any Harrah's property unless you want to be a $100 player and at Wynn it is also just $15. So while I found the place nice but was not fantastic looking, it offers much more for the average gambler than Bellaggio, Mirage, TI, Harrah's or anyplace nearby except Caesars which has a few good games that Harrah's has not changed.
What Wynn did was put all of his bad games up front. Get the walkins, and unknowing tourists to lose quicker. At the same time he wants the educated gambler from places like the big B, Mirage and Caesars, so he offers them games they will play.

Very nice the rooms are beautiful and the service throughout is outstanding. Visit Las vegas 7 times a year and will probably not stay at Wynns all the time because of price compared to other places Flamigo--Ballys---TI but will return.

mmarquez,
You mentioned a great strip view from the bed.
Do you mind if I ask you what room number it was?
We are staying there in December for our tenth Anniversary and my wife REALLY wants a spectacuar view.
Thanks in advance,
Mark (Striprat)

I totaly enjoyed it, the detail is very impressive, best lounge acts by far.
And at night it seems your far away from the hustle and bussle looking out onto the dark golf coarse at back end.

I was there opening day machines were loose casino was crowded so had fun playing.went back in sept. machines just like most other casinos loosenesmust have worn off:rolleyes:
I do like the Wynn Las Vegas, but I think that the Bellagio is more comfortable. Why? First, although the casino is large, I think that the other common areas are a bit closed in. The "atrium" (for lack of a better word) really seemed claustrophobic (unlike the Bellagio's conservatory).
I was ready to be blown away, but was not. It is a very well done design and the colors are vibrant. The poker room is very plush, and there are daily tournments with higher stakes.
The "water show" is very well done, with LEDs used underwater that transform the water to canvas. The big head popping up from the water is cool, as well. However, I was under the impression that you could stand on a patio and get a view of the entire mountain and lake from the hotel, but the lake (pond) is quite small.
Did not stay there, but if I had my choice, I think I would go back to the Bellagio first.
I personally haven't stayed there, but I hear the rooms are what differentiates the place. Flat screen LCD TVs, 320 thread count bed linens, Turkish towels ...
How about their buffet? I hear it's really good as well ...

We walked through the buffet area, and yes it looks really good. More on the pricey side, dinner for over $30, but there was a wide selection and the shrimp were already peeled (for your convenience).

I felt exactly the same way. I was out there without hubby (poor hubby) and called him to tell him that it looked like Bellagio. I didn't win there, nothing special, I probably won't make a special trip down there. I think it's overrated. Though I DID like the sign they have out front - no strollers!! Vegas is not a place for strollers or kids, IMO.

The place is amazing.
It certainly grows on you as well.
Maybe the best interior design I've ever seen in a casino.
I've been studying some of the design features, such as moldings, column headers, carpets, marble, etc... It's all top notch and impressive. The furniture along the long hallways that make up the convention area - all different but consistent. I can't imagine purchasing for this place.
Vegas is not a place for strollers or kids, IMO.
I disagree. Vegas is a perfect place to bring your kids......so long as they are over 21. :D

I figured the free show would be suited for more people to enjoy instead it was just an escalator ride down and back up (WOW I felt like a King) :D :D :D
I do agree the inside of the casino looks like a remod of the Bellagio. We did love the mountain that was real cool. We did stay at the Stardust when Wynn opened up thinking that we would be able to see the free show. Ohwell it was still a nice view.

Have been to the Wynn Casino on my last two visits to Vegas. I had a good time and was also lucky enough to win some money. I like the 3 Way Video Poker machines. We also ate dinner in the buffet both visits and the food was great. I would like to try staying there for a couple of nights.
