We usually are up around 10-11 a.m. and my hubbie just loves breakfast. Where can we go besides the buffets for breakfast? Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes or omelettes.

I would suggest either the Peppermill or the Hash House A Go Go. I've never been to either but I've read quite a bit about them through this forum. I'm sure some other, more experienced, posters will have other places to suggest but these are out of the casinos and I think they would give you a chance to see the "local" side of Vegas.;)

Where are you staying?

I second Peppermill. I ate at Hash House a go-go and the portions were huge -- too huge. NOt exactly traditional breakfast food either.

Just about any coffee shop in a hotel serves breakfast 24/7. Some are quite excellent!

We are staying at the Orleans but are renting a car so location is not important.

We eat the the Peppermill every time we're in LV, but I have never heard of Hash House a GoGo. Where is it located? And could someone offer a little more info about it? Thanks!

Here's the website:

http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/

Click on the Vegas link.

the food was ridiculously huge. And I like Cheesecake factory, don't usually have a problem with large portions. I don't mind leaving some food behind. But I had a "farm benedict" at Hash House and I think I ate MAYBE 1/4 of it. ANd I was hungry.

I think I give more details in my trip report "getting into hot water in Vegas"

Anyway take a look at the menu. If it sounds appealing, then you should try it out. It's certainly unique.

Hey Kestral, thanks for the info on the restaurant. I've never heard of it but I checked out the link, what a find! I'll be staying at my bro's in a week and according to mapquest, it's only 2 miles away. The pictures of the food look so interesting. Never knew you could make breakfast look like art.

A few additional restaurants come immediately to mind including:

Blueberry Hill voted 2005 Best of Las Vegas - Diner/Coffee Shop - multiple locations

Ellis Island on Koval (behind Ballys)

Egg & I on W. Sahara

The Original Pancake House - multiple locations

Here is a link to a great website exclusively dealing with breakfasts. Just click on the name of the restaurant for reviews (some stale):

Thanks, Kestral, for the link to Hash House a GoGo. Looks like a place we will enjoy. We'll will probably check it out during our April trip.

Thanks for all the replies. Besides the buffets, there are certainly a lot of choices!

Can't say this from first hand experience but I am told that the Omelet Factory in Henderson is quite good. Very popular with the locals.

Omelette House has a relatively new, convenient location - on Maryland just South of Tropicana.

Great omelettes, (of course), plus their signature home made pumpkin bread that many including my wife would kill for. (I don't like pumpkin ANYTHING!)

The huge pile of thin home fries, almost like potato chips, served with most breakfasts makes them almost too much to eat.

Terribles has a terrific breakfast.....4 eggs, hashbrowns, huge piece of ham, toast for $5. It has the best ham. Very tasty. This is served in the 2nd floor Cafe. You will not leave hungry.:)

Arizona Charlie's on Decanteur (sp?) is fabulous - their coffe shop.

Eggs. toast, coffee, and a one pound ham steak for $2.49. We actually shared it, and it was plenty. They even gave us extra toast at no cost.
