IP maybe ?............I'm not sure how long it will take for McHarrah's to
start their TOTAL REWARDS program there (if at all), folks seem to be feeling the effects already at Ceasars.
Harrah's is very tight on comps these days except for their very high rollers...

 We play at Harrahs properties because we travel around quite a bit to the riverboats and their points can be used in any casino. My husband travels a lot and when he is in a city where there is a Harrahs property he gets a room and food comped, but doesn't gamble much. He still gets more comps from these casinos anyway. However, when they issue coupons for return trips they are for specific casinos. If you play in Vegas you will get coupons for free rooms at the Rio or Harrahs. For all around comps Caesars is probably best. I had never stayed at the Paris, which is a Caesars property but had played there a little bit and they sent me a coupon for 2 nights. Cash back credits and food comps add up pretty fast with them as well. You can use your points at any Caesars property in the U.S. Since Harrahs has bought them, the word from the Harrahs people I have talked with is that they will take the best and most popular portion of each company and put them together and make a better program in March 2006. If this is true, then the Harrahs-Caesars combo will be the best around. In fact, the only difference I have found in Harrahs and Caesars comps is that you can get cash back when you leave the casino at Caesars. Harrahs doesn't do that. You have to wait for coupons in the mail which sometimes have short expirations. But, I have gotten as much as $100 from them that had a year to expire. However, I agree with Gregrio. Play for yourself where you feel the most comfortable. Don't play for comps. It's not worth it in the long run. ;) I have won some nice pots at NYNY, but they have never comped me anything. But winning there makes it one of my favorites.

Most often, you have to see a host to get anything at NYNY.

We stayed the IP last year for the first time (5 days)(we played only in the morning and late evening) and it was easy to gain and use your comps. My card paid for 4 dinner buffets and still had comp value left over. If you want to use your comps at any of the restaurants in the casino you just show your card and they swipe it. No lines to the card club to get a coupon for dinner like some other casinos. I just hope they stay with it but with Harrah's taking over, I doubt it. :(

 Harrahs works the same way. Just swipe your card. Or charge to your room if you're staying there or at the Rio then they will charge it to your player card when you check out if you ask them to. Don't think there will a whole of difference when Harrahs gets their system in. Only complaint we have with Harrahs is that they don't give cash back while you are there. You have to wait on coupons to come in the mail and they are pretty skimpy.

I found the Mirage to be very giving with their comps. We're not high rollers and after just 3 days of gambling with $25 min we built up enough to comp all our meals, and 1/2 our room charge. See the casino host and don't be shy in asking the pit bosses for buffet comps. Make sure to see the hosts both slots and floor before checking out, they'll let you know what you've earned. The Players One card can be used at Mirage, MGM, Bellagio, Ceasars, and Beau Rivage(MS). Good luck :)

The I.P. is very generous with their comps and very liberal on how they rate you. The corporate world comps are more tough to get and are getting even tougher to get.
What ever happened to the good lod days when you played for a few hours and asked the Pit Boss for a buffet comp and you got one with no questions asked? Now it takes a mathematical formula to figure out if you qualify to get one!

Low rollers get comps every day downtown. A $400 per day budget for slots will get you free room/food offers from Main Street Station, for example. Or the Vegas Club, Plaza, 4 Queens, Fremont, California, Fitzgeralds -- pretty much anywhere downtown except Golden Nugget. :)

We go to Vegas 2-3 times per year and that is about what our budget is. We have never paid for a meal in Excalibur and our cash back adds up pretty fast also. Our last night we always dine at Sir Galahd's and the bill is usually $95--$100
Plus we get tons of offers for $19.00 per night room rates which is like free.

The IP gives the best comps for poker room-$3 an hour. It can be used for your room charge, restaurants or even gift shop.

We play within the Mandalay Bay Group. [Luxor, Excal., Monte Carlo, Slots for fun, and Circus Circus] the points add up fast. We usually do not pay for meals, andeither our room gets comped or it is very inexpensive. They let you build up your points and save for 18 months. So if we have any leftovers we leave them there. Also there are different times that they offer double comp points join the One Club for more info.

I would also nominate the Mandalay Group casinos for having good comps. I am not a huge player by any means. I usually stay at the Luxor. I do have a host and I have not paid for a meal in 6 trips to the Luxor. I have only paid for 2 nights in those 6 four day trips. I would say I have a fair amount of luck at the Luxor also.

The Players One card can also be used at NYNY.
In all my visits to Las Vegas since 1989, the only comp I remember ever receiving was a buffet coupon at Stratosphere, where they were so nice to us that we stayed there on our next visit. I have stayed at The Dunes, Paris Las Vegas, Stratoshere and, my usual stop, Harrah's.
Harrah's can't even seem to get my Total Rewards account set up properly, although every time I go they claim to fix it. I've never been that concerned about it since I never get comp'd anyway. To be fair though, when we needed an ambulance once, Harrah's had a security guard to us within 10 minutes and after he decided that we really did need an ambulance, the paramedics were there in 5 minutes. While the security guy was very nice, I don't think he'd been given any medical training and Harrah's response to our call for help seemed geared more to their needs than ours.

GCW, no offence but if you have never received a comp since 1989 except for a buffett at the Strat, you aren't using your players card or else you are only gambling $5 at each casino. Use that card and play at mostly one casino and you will receive offers in the mail if you play any amount at all. I bet even a $50 a day gambling budget would get you some offers at the lessor properties.
We started at $100 a day gambling budget back in 1995 and received lots of offers from Harrahs. The key is to put all your play at one casino or players club. Good Luck,Tim

We've been staying at the Flamingo for the past 3 years and always ended up paying nothing for our stay, including meals. Just got back from a 5 night stay and things have changed! We did plenty of gambling at the Flamingo & at the "Connection Club" casinos and ended up paying for all our meals and for one night. Have been told by casino hosts in the past that the changes with all these casinos being taken over by these big corporations is not a good thing as far as comps go. Less competition, less comps. May be looking at a different hotel to stay at in the Spring.

We usually stay at Bellagio, but they would only comp us 2 nights so we called over to Mirage and they comped us 4 nights and a guest card for the buffet. We're coming to LV Nov. 13th and staying at Mirage.

We have been regulars at the Rio for years. The first card was a gold card. The next was platnum and now we are Diamonds. I must tell you were are not High rollers at all. We have never paid for a room since the first platnum card. We have stayed as long as 6 days at a time and go maybe 3 times a year. I can tell you that in order to get the comps you should really gamble where you would like to stay the most. That is where the card comes in handy. Always charge to your room any meals. You never know if your food will be comped by how much you play. You will be suprised to know it really isn't a great deal. Gambling places are all the same, just pick a hotel that you enjoy. It is really based on time spent gambling and money. It's hard to pass up free rooms and shows and that is why we go so often.
Hi KIb5zcr,
I always use my player card at Harrah's and when I insert it into the machine I haven't earned enough for any comps. We usually go for a five day 4 night stay and I usually allow anywhere from $100 to $200 a day. Maybe I just need to meet Bob Cohen! ;)

Now, I'm not an expert on the mega strip resort comp policies, but I can tell you for certain that Coast Casinos are very reasonable. But the key to comps at the local venues is to JUST ASK for them.
I'll give you a specific example of an experience at a Station casino... I was with a friend, and we always like to shoot craps at Santa Fe Station. We probably played for two hours - we're not big spenders by any means, but we were there actively playing (and losing). We simply asked for a comp for one of the food court restaurants, and were given $10 each, no questions asked or points deducted from our slot club accounts.
In other situations at Suncoast, all I've had to do was JUST ASK for a comp after playing for an hour or two at a blackjack table. A free buffet or meal at the coffee shop was not a hassle - again, no points deducted.
Again, the strip resorts will most likely not be as friendly or loose with the comps, but you have to find yourself a floor manager or pit boss who will do right by you.

Me and hubby go to vegas 3 times a year, have not had to pay for a hotel in at least the last 5 years. we get comps at all the mgm properties, harrah, rio group and the venetian...since harrahs took over the ceasars group we have also received comp letters from the flamingo and ballys too..........you have to get one account and use 2 cards to accumulate the points...we have like a $400 a day budget for each of us.....we are definitely not high rollers.....but whatever we are doing works...never any comps at the IP and only once in awhile for the strat.....but we get enuff offers in the mail that we've even taken a trip to vegas just to use the free rooms...........

As Far As Discounted Room Rates Go. The Tropicana Is Very Giving. Me & My Wife Stay For Three Nights Usually About 2-3 Times Per Year. And Between The Slots And The Tables We Only Put In About $ 300.00 Per Day If That. One Of Our Nights Is Usually Free And The Other 2 Are About $ 40-50 A Night. Now Granted This Is Midweek But I Still Think That Is Pretty Good.

Me, my husband and a friend go to Las vegas every October. We are always comped at NYNY. How it started was that I got one players card in my name and asked for 2 more. Now we all play using the same card number. Comps for room and food add up fast that way.:)

Hubby and I have a joint card at MGM. We have both played quite a bit at MGM and I play a lot at NYNY (put in about $1,000 over 5 trips). We never get anything comped. A couple of months ago when we were there, we asked about our comps and they said we did not have any. We had only $35 built up between us which we cashed in. We like playing at both places, but it seems that we have to be high rollers to really get any benefits from them.
They don't even send us anything in the mail.
