Well......you got alittle taste of what the Show is like but what comes across on TV is so limited...If you're planning on seeing ELTON live some day,
you barley made it to 1st base on this TV tease.
THE BASTARDS CUT OUT THE PAM ANDERSON SET AFTER SHOWING PREVIEWS OF IT ON TV....CHEAP CHEAP BASTARDS!
The repeats this Thursday on BRAVO 8-10PM don't look any different...
I saw Elton John in October and thought it was a great show. The TV special, however, did not do it justice. It is very difficult to appreciate the giant video screen and neon light set on television, espically given the goofy camera angles they were using...
Nonetheless, it was fun to relive parts of the show for free...

I'm looking into going to see EJ. I'm a huge fan..seen him 26 times in concert already and ready for more. I'm trying to find the cheapest time to fly out the LV and get some rooms before I get the show tix.
I'm so jealous that you saw it. The reviews have been spectacular and I'm going to get there soon. :D

Well I hate to be the oddball here but I did not like the show. Granted, Elton is getting up there in age and can't hit the high notes anymore but aside from "Candle In The Wind" and "Your Song," I thought his vocals were not that good.
I did not like the 5 minute piano solo in "Bennie and the Jets" and "Rocket Man." which by the way was the worst song he did. And will someone tell me why the showed slot machines with "Pinball Wizard?" Why didn't they just show Pinball machines?
All in all, I was disappointed with the show.
(was that the real Tina Turner?)

I only caught a couple of minutes of the tv show, but thought he sounded terrible. Saw the show last summer and he sounded wonderful. Could just be the end of a hectic touring period and he's wiped out, or else I caught him on an exceptionally good night. But I was truly impressed with his voice still last summer, thought it had gotten deeper and richer with age, and more expressive. The bit I heard the other night truly was weak.
