I've read lots of recommendations over the years for it and after checking
out the new BLUE MAN GROUP show...I WANTED PASTA and there
was the GRAND LUX. I was seated in the front section. It looked like
it could be a fairly large cafe from what I could see, and was warm and
cozy with a pleasant crowd...and then there was the RUSTIC LASAGNIA.
It was more like a Cantaloni than layers of pasta with thin strips of grilled
Chicken, large slices of mushrooms, wonderful cheese and marrinara sauce.
Bread, House Salad and Soda and I was VERY HAPPY......$26.67 + tip.

The Grand Lux serves massive amounts of food. You can easily feed two people from one portion.
The staff there will let you know if you arder TOO MUCH food.
The food has never been bad at any time we have eaten there. They have a "Cheesecake Factory" close to us here in NY which is the G.L.'s parent company and it's just like being in Las Vegas.

Grand Lux will give you a great meal at a great price, bar none. Try to get there every time I'm in town and I don't say that about any other place.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Grand Lux. We ended up eating quite a few meals there on our last visit. We felt as if we discovered a great Vegas secret! The fried fish was fantastic!

Sorry, I beg to differ with all of the members who responded about the Grand Lux. Went there twice for breakfast, and both times were a disappointment. :( The second time we went they had to comp us because it was so bad. Of the 6 people who dined with us, 4 of those meals were terrible. Cold eggs, greasy potatoes, wrong orders, bad coffee, and deplorable service-Yes we waited over half an hour for our food after we were seated.. The second time was a small breakfast buffet, and you would have thought we were on a rationing line or in the army-cheap flimsy white paper plates, cheap white picnic plastic utensils, and so little choice. The danish and muffins made from a cheap mix must have been left over from the days of Marie Antoinnette. (Yes, I am not mistaken. This was the Grand Lux located near the bottom of the elevator.) We had gone back with this buffet to give them another chance and because it was convenient. Never again. And I was so surprised because it was in the Venetian Hotel. I was just discussing this restaurant with a friend, and she mentioned she went there during her stay last year and had the same bad experience at a sit-down meal. Well, maybe it is just breakfast. Glad everyone else enjoyed it and did not waste their time or money. I am not a real picky person, but believe me, this place was bad!

<<<<<we waited over half an hour for our food after we were seated>>>>
This is normal for the Grand Lux as it is usually very busy but still no excuse for the poor service and quality of food. If you order appetizers, it makes the waiting time for the main course go faster.

I sympathize with your "episode", but I find it hard to believe that this would happen at the Grand Luxe.
Perhaps, it was a dream, or cocktail hour came early.
I have been there too many times to believe this scenario.

Never had a bad meal there. In fact, every meal was excellent!
We tend to eat there more than we should every time we're in town.
Chicken Venetian is very good.
Usually the first place we go after checking into our hotel is to the Grand Lux.

My first couple of trips I absolutely loved it. I've had a couple of mediocre breakfasts, though, so I think I'll stick to lunch and dinner in future.

I've had breakfast there and I was not overly impressed (did not try their breakfast buffet, just ordered off the menu). I'm not saying it wasn't good, it's just that it was my first visit there and I was expecting much more as I had heard so much about it. However, I would say that lunch and dinner there is outstanding. I've been there a few times when I've stayed at the Venetian. I've also been fortunate enough to go there when there wasn't much of a line or that people were seated fairly quickly. Timing is everything in life. lol Do order appetizers as they're also very good.

Well, it seems GRAND LUX's breakfasts aren't as popular as their lunches
and dinners. I don't eat breakfast...boring meal. Diet Pepsi, Banana Nut
Muffin, double stack of dollar Bonus Poker with a side of Slots gets my
morning off to a great start!

When I go there for dinner, I always get the Mongolian beef. They just opened a Grand Lux on Long Island and I recommended it to my sister. She tried it and concurred---outstanding.

We make sure to eat at the Grand Lux at least once every trip to Vegas and have never had a bad meal either. In fact we love the food there. Their chicken pot pie would feed four people, chicken parmesan is wonderful and also a huge portion. All of their hamburgers are great too. Haven't eaten breakfast there, so maybe they aren't as good, but have always had great lunches and dinners. Have always had great service too, usually fairly busy and have to wait a bit to be seated and then a wait again after we order, but have always found it worth it.

We love the grand lux and make a point of eating here each visit. The hubby love something called the sunday nite pasta?? It looks like everything thrown in and more than two people could eat it for sure. Of all the meals that we have eaten here since they have been open we were unaware that there was a buffet here as one poster mentioned. Never seen anything on the menu for this either. The food is great and the prices are good and we enjoy eating "outside" so we can people watch in the casino.

I am really looking forward to trying this place as a result of these posts! My husband and I will be staying at the Venetian in August. Actually, after looking at the menus on their website, I think the food is much more reasonably priced than I expected! Any other Venetian recommendations?
