What a surprise!!!
Tim Dressen, of www.fivehundybymidnight.com did a wonderful commentary in his weekly Podcast broadcast at his website about the Everything Las Vegas newsletter and Forum group.
You can listen to the broadcast here:

Also please check out Tim's website as there is a lot of good stuff there.

Thanks for letting us know about that. I just listened to the podcast. Nice talk about your website/newsletter/forums. I'm very curious about which other forums he might be talking about that have gone awry, so to speak. My bet is it has to AVLV. LOL
I'm glad that happened as I wasn't aware of that website and have now subscribed to the podcast RSS feed.
Thanks again.

Hi Steve & Hunter:
The Podcast was very complimentary, not only of all the work you both do, but of the group as a whole. I must say, I have never seen any foul language, fighting or any of the things that can happen with a message forum. We have a great group of helping folks, and lets keep it that way!
I guess you hit the big time now guys. You’ll surely make the membership numbers rise.
Merry Christmas
Dee

Some boards have a lot of problems with people being more interested in arguing than contributing.
Thank goodness we don't have that problem here but rest assured that if we did, we'd shut those folks down ASAP.
I think you are doing a fantanstic, job with this forum. I find it very interesting, informative, and humorus. A Happy Holiday to you and all the other members.
A stupid question if I might ...
I too enjoyed the show, but I have been struggling to figure out why these things are called "podcasts".
They are simply MP3 Files. I don't own an iPOD. But I can listen to these files on ANYTHING that plays MP3 files.
This includes my Treo cellphone, my PPC cellphone, my laptop computer, my desktop computer, my creative portable ... aything. There are 1000+ devices out there that play MP3 files, and I think some people may not download these "podcast" things because they think they may be iPOD specific (which is what I thought for awhile). It could narrow the audience quite because 90% of people still listen to MP3's on something other than an iPOD.
When did simple MP3 audio files become redefined as "Podcasts"?
Is there something that the iPod does differently with these "podcasts" that a regular MP3 player does not, are there different chapters or browsing points that only an iPOD can use?
If so, maybe I will actually spring for an iPOD ... but if they are just simple MP3 files (which they appear to be to my devices), then I don't understand the whole "pod" thing.
Perhaps someone can enlighten a non-iPOD owner a bit?
Thanks.
Never mind, I found the answer to my own question.

I too was very proud of the fact that there is no in-fighting on these boards. It's great to see that even though one persons opinion is different from another persons opinion, it can be posted with complete courtesy.
(also I zap the crap out of anything bad! LOL :D )
