After reading a lot about Memphis Championship BBQ over the years, we decided to give it try. They are just west of the Strip, on Rainbow, and it took us about 15 minutes to get there from the Barbary Coast.
Three of us dined and wasted no time in getting what we wanted: the family pack for 4. This massive amount of food comes to $60, and is cheaper than ordering individual meals. Here's what you get: 1/2 pound chopped pork shoulder; 1/2 pound of "hot links" (spicy sausage); 1/2 pound of smoked brisket; one rack of ribs; a whole BBQ chicken; bread; fries; cole slaw; baked beans and creamed corn.
Of course we made a huge dent in the meat, but couldn't come close to eating all of the sides. On the table are various BBQ sauces, but good BBQ like this does not need to be hidden under sauce! All of the sides were excellent, except for the creamed corn, which was a little runny and bland.
All in all we found Memphis Championship BBQ to be a winner, and it has earned a spot in our Vegas dining rotation.
