Do you play the slots at the Airport, settle into your room or hit the nearest casino as quick as possible?

Get off that sardine-packed plane at 5:30 pm, get our luggage, get our rental car, check in at the hotel, unpack, sit and relax for a few minutes, take a Zantac, eat at the buffet, (yes, the Zantac is for the effects of overeating at the buffet), then hit the slots. We don't sleep much the first night.

I usually check in at the airport, take taxi to hotel (Flamingo in 6 days), then go right to room and unpack and we are usually starving because we are coming from east coast with no food on plane. After grabbing a bite to eat we hit the casino. Can't wait, only a few more days.

Hubbie gets the bags, I check in at the airport, shuttle to hotel, unpack, have a quick lunch. Then, my little quirk, I like to pick up show tickets we've booked, so we do that...THEN I hit the slots and Hubbie settles in at the Race Book.

The first thing I do is go into relax mode. No hurry this is a vacation.Everything is open 24 hours anyhow. Ive been here many times before and I enjoy it better every time. Outside of making show reservations I make no plans, Eat, sots, black jack, craps and anything else that calls.

Of course get off the plane...LOL. Get baggage, get taxi to hotel. Unpack, go get something to eat (hubby is always hungry), then walk around the strip a little to stretch our legs....then we start the gambling and drinking process!

Out of plane, men's room, baggage check (if needed), national car rental bus (emerald aisle, front of line), pop vegas music CD into rental car and drive for the hotel. "Bright light city, going to set my soul.. going to set my soul on fiiiiire.."

Once at hotel, we normally head for casino for a bit of gambling before eating.

We wait until we get into the hotel to gamble...I always swear that I am going to resist playing in the airport...last trip, while waiting to LEAVE Vegas, my husband played slots in the airport, ( I think he could smoke in there ? Memory is fuzzy, lol) and he hit over a hundred bucks. We were shocked, and had to get on the plane RIGHT AWAY, thankfully, or I probably would've lost it all. A very nice way to exit.

Get off the plane, go right to the smoking room with slots(4 hrs is a long time without a cigarette), put a few bucks in (to get into "Vegas mode"), head for the baggage claim, get a taxi or limo (if comped) and head to the hotel. Check in, hit a few slots on the way to the room, head to the room, unpack a little. Put the bulk of our money in the safe, then head straight for the slots. I usually stay up way too late the first night playing slots and pay for it the next day. Next trip I won't (although, I say that every time.) Wish I was going soon, but probably won't be until Spring. (Just went in November)

I usually will try and settle into my room for a few minutes hit the shower and then go play in the casino.

No matter HOW tired I am, I want to get going! Play a little, eat something, start revelling in the Las Vegas ambiance.

Hubby always wants to nap first...so he does, while I read all the magazines, take a shower, and make LOADS of noise to wake him up, so I can start my damn vacation already!

First my Father in law hits the smoking room to play the slots and get his fix
My wife goes to ethel m
I usually head to the Lid Store to by myself a New( Steeler) hat for the sportsbook.

Then it to the pick up the Luggage and head for the rental car and Check in
after that the wife head to wall mart to get food and water for the Room
also stop by Vons for the booz

Loaded down with baggage after driving, I register and go straight to the room - for about 90 seconds. Comb the hair, maybe a change of clothes, and then it's straight to the slots. After a relatively short session of about 2-3 hours, it's back to the room to unpack and plan the first night back in Paradise!!

Depart the airport in our Alamo rental car heading to the Luxor. Check in, unpack, relax for a few, shower and change clothes, have a bite to eat and then head to the casino for some slot play and craps that will take us well into the evening.

The past several times I have made arragements for a limo to pick my and my friend up. I have them drive up the strip and back to our hotel. It's a great way to see what's new on the strip and immurse ourselves the splender that is Vegas.:D

We hoist down our carry ons and head right for Gray Line or whichever line is shortest. Don't stop for the bathroom, slot machines or people who get in our way.

Check in at the hotel, use the bathroom, maybe change clothes, maybe not, depending on the temperature, and hit the casino.

If we were served food on the plane (last time we did) we won't bother to eat until later.

Then it's non-stop gambling, eating, gambling, eating, until it's time to come home.

We've never played any of the machines in the airport and we stopped checking luggage years ago. If it doesn't fit in a carry on, it stays home.

I don't mind waiting for my bag at McCarran. I like the glitzy ads and the sounds of the slot machines. Gets me even more pumped-up
I just love people(girl)watching also. :)

When we get to hotel usually check to make sure air is working (husband always turns it down lower than they have it set at) and then its time to hit the bar, get a drink then start looking for a lucky slot. Funny thing is we never find one. Maybe next trip we'll find a lucky slot.

Happy 2006

We always check in and unpack and settle into the room at the Venetian. I call Priority Services and have them deliver a mini refrigerator for our use during our stay there. Once that is all set, we usually head down to the Sports and Race book to see what games are on the board and what tracks are running. Will usually pick up the complimentary Daily Racing Forms and try to hit a trifecta to get the trip off to a flying start.

My 1st trip to Vegas was with Funjet when they used to deliver the bags to the room. We were staying at the Excalibur.
That said the first thing we did after the shuttle ride was sit at a Video Poker bar $1 JoB (way above the limit I had at the time) and ordered a beer. The bartender said buy a roll of tokens and get a beer comped. Cool with us.
We played and won a little and a tradition was started. I still play VP and I drink Heiniken whenever I am in Vegas.

We try to be relaxed as we exit plane, wife hits smoke room, we NEVER play slots in airport, grab the bags and the rental car. Turn on to LV Blvd way up at the end where the famous sign is and cruise the full length soaking up the sights and sounds as we head downtown to where the REAL fun is. Gotta get checked in, make sure the room doesn't suck and the A/C works, then downstairs, out through the casino to Freemont Street to see what's up!
After that, I really can't say because what happens in Vegas only stays in Vegas if you don't leave any witnesses!!!

but that's just me....

After exiting plane, must stop at restrooms before going downstairs and outside for a quick smoke. Grab luggage, get in cab line and head for Bellagio. Check-in to room or check bags. If we get into room, immediate unpacking is a must (we both feel very strongly about this!). By this time it's about 11 am, so head straight for the Fontana Bar for a Bloody Mary (me), Colorado Bulldog (DH) and $50 worth of VP. T minus 52 WOO-HOO-HOO :p

Looks like almost everyone flies in. Here's the fun of driving in:

Leave San Diego
2 hrs later stop in Barstow for gas and a Double Double with fries (I don't eat this anywhere else).
2 hrs later stop at Primm (formerly known as Stateline), use the restroom and lose $20 in the slots. (It's almost Vegas).
10 minutes later, stop in Jean. Lose $20 in the slots.(closer to Vegas)
20 minutes later, arrive in Vegas, unpack, eat and the rest is a blur.

As we exit the freeway, "Viva Las Vegas" goes into the CD player.
Valet, check in, store bags if need be, if not go to room to wait for bell guy.
Go down to casino! Then usually off to the mall, back to unpack while hubby goes to work out! Less than a month, but who is counting.......oh, I AM!!!

Off the plane head straight for the smoking section(rotten habit, I know it) head to baggage claim. Grab bags, grab cab. First words in Vegas are "Please don't take the tunnel" Off to Harrahs, it's always Harrahs. Check in, unpack in record time, usually 10 minutes. You have to figure out that you save precious Vegas time by unpacking now rather than Ironing later. Off to the casino. Usually not seeing the room again for at least 12 hrs.

I usually stop at Starbucks, for a little pick me up. Then $5 in the slots. I never check luggage, so then it's off to the shuttle to hit the Lady Luck. Unfortunately, I have to find me a new favorite hotel for a while.

Pick up the bags, and cab ride to wherever we're staying, check bags with the bellhop since the room is never ready this early. Usually it's lunch time, so we grab some lunch at one of the coffee shops. I find it actually takes me several hours before I'm ready to play - I think I get a little tight from the travelling. We usually kick off on a Saturday, so mostly VP for me since the table limits are higher.

The first thing I do is head to the rest room, then to the car rental place, then to the HRH. Even if I'm not staying there, I always go there first and just look around for about 30-45 minutes. Then I go check in at my hotel, whichever that is.

We NEVER check bags to Vegas, so we walk as casually as possible to the Grey Lines trying to act as suave as we can, even though we are giddy as school girls. No matter how many times we go, we still seem to get the biggest high just being a part of it all.:p

We go to our hotel and check our luggage because we always arrive to early to check in. Not a problem for us usually. Then we decide where we want to have brunch - We have always arrived on Sunday morning. After a quick bite to eat, it's off to the BlackJack table. After playing for a while, we will go back to our hotel and get our room. We unpack, get out all the magazines and brochures and sketch out a game plan for the next few days. Then it's back to the blackjack table for our marathon run - always our first afternoon. Ahhh, Vegas!

We have a 12 1/2 flight to Vegas but there is no time for jet lag! Sleep the whole way and be as fresh as a daisy when we land. I always want to cry when we land because I'm so excited! Is anyone else like this? Usually it is straight through customs and on to the transport to go to the hotel. I usually stay at the Luxor but I'm going to Treasure Island this year and have hired a car (guys, stay off the road June 7 -22 as I'm used to driving on the other side of the road and have never driven in the USA!). I throw the cases into the room as soon as I can and get to Caesar's to SHOP!! I'm not a gambler but I love the sights and shows in Vegas and love to shop there. 18 weeks today until I'm back - I can't wait!!!! :D

We always go to the room and unpack and freshen up. The first night is usually spent in the casino of the hotel we are staying. If we arrive in Vegas at a decent hour, we may wonder to some near by casinos also and have dinner.

Once we've gotten the rental car we go straight to the hotel and check-in. Once inside the room, I unpack, freshen-up and maybe put on a fresh shirt. This takes all of 3-4 minutes. Then my wife, who has done nothing to ready herself to get down to the casino during this time, goes into the bathroom. Then the wait begins. My wife will dilly-dally for 15-20 minutes in there. In the meantime, I'm itching to get downstairs, so I get restless. I look at the view from the window, turn on the TV (with no intentions of watching), go look out the window again, turn off the TV, try out the bed for comfort, look out the window again, look at the room service menu, gasp at the prices, etc, etc. Then, after 3 minutes of this ritual, I ask the wife, "What are you doing? Geez." She then scolds me and I start the ritual over again. Then 3 minutes later; "I'll meet you downstairs" I say, in an effort to hurry her up. Doesn't work. So I wait. Then we finally go straight to the casino, straight to a VP bar and order 2 Bud Lights and play .25 VP.

My first stop after exiting the plane is to find one specific nickle slot machine. I hit a $500.00 jackpot on it as I was leaving Vegas one day. Since then I always put $5.00 into it each time I'm in the airport with hopes to hit it again. Someday... Maybe... Maybe this Saturdy night when I arrive for a 10 day trip.:)

Play slots @ airport, get bags, take bus to get rental car, go to sister's house, have a drink, go to eat, find some craps & a beer, more slots, maybe sleep a little, get up, start over!!

We always get bags and head to hotel. Check out room and then down to casino and check that out, have something to eat and then find a lucky slot or lucky blackjack table. Never get much sleep first night. Usually stay in our home hotel the first night and wander all over the strip for the rest of the week.

Arrive, quick pit stop for whoever needs it, then straight to luggage. I agree with the person who said he doesn't mind the luggage process at McCarran. It's just so... Vegas-y. I don't gamble at the airport -- just seems wrong. On arrival, I'm anxious to actually get to the hotel/casino, and on departure -- that part of the trip is over, and it would seem sad to be holding on to the last minute. I say goodbye to the slots as I check out!

Grab a taxi, head to the Mirage. Check in, go up to room and unpack, freshen up. As anxious as I am to get on with things, I really, really appreciate coming back to a room that's all set, with nothing to do but pour a drink and stretch out on the bed.

Depending on arrival time, we're starving and head for lunch, or have some time to play slots.

Even if we're starving, we usually manage a little slot time on the way to lunch!

We generally drive in to Vegas, usually after a night stop over in Barstow for shopping. We start the drive early the next day - very excited!!! First stop is Primm where we take in some more bargains, sometimes popping in to Buffalo Bills for a quick flutter :) We may hit some more outlets on the way into Vegas, but we are usually are so captured by the city we turn to each other and say "Strip cruise?"...with huge smiles on our faces of course!!! Upon checking in, we change our shoes and off we go for our first strip walk to check out all things new!!!! First meal is usually at The Cheesecake Factory in Caesars or Il Fornao in NYNY - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, can't wait, roll on April!!!

We usually check in, drop our bags and run for the nearest tables and slot machines. We may meet up a few hours later to get some grub but mainly we gamble. I usually go out every 4 or 5 months so by the time I get to Vegas, I have the gambler's shakes and I need some BJ.

one thing i gotta say, we all sound like little kids all excited on christmas morning or something! lol. since i fly southwest out of burbank, i try to sit in the back of the plane (at burbank, they let you get on in the front and back of the plane). i get off the plane, head for the smoking area for a smoke. walk to the baggage claim to get my bag. get a cab, head to either rio or sahara, which ever one i'm staying at. check in, go to room. walk around room to make sure everything is in order, then unpack. head back down to the store, stock up on a few munchies, bottled water, sodas, and lots of red bull. go back up to the room, put everything away. then head down to say hello to my host. THEN, after everything is taken care of, do a walk around of the casino to see if there is any new slots, and then fire away! :D

I always take non-stop flights from Florida so I don't get in until 11PM. I quit checking bags, but that is mainly because I don't want to wait when I arrive back in Orlando. I never play slots, and definitely not in the airport. Usually walk as fast as I can to get a cab to Palms, then get up to the room and unpack. I'll spend some extra time this trip checking out the room because it will be in the new Fantasy Tower. Then like normal, I'll be sitting at a blackjack table within 1 hour of landing. Usually I drink too much while playing and don't eat the first night. In 19 days it will be different, I'm only playing 2 or 3 hours then I'm eating.

Deplane Southwest and head over to airport check-in for Flamingo while husband grabs our checked bag from the carosel. Take a taxi to the hotel and begin to unpack most of our things and enjoy the view facing Pool Side of the Flamingo. Leave the room with anticipation of hitting Las Vegas Boulevard and generally head to Paris to their pastry shop to sit and enjoy something yummy and chocolate with a cup of coffee. Husband begins to play Poker and I find the nearest roulette table that has some action. It is a safe bet that we will play until the early morning hours before we finally go to bed. Eight weeks until a much anticipated seven night stay.

I usually check in at the airport, while hubby gets the bags. Then we head for the cab line. We get the cabby to make a pit stop at a gas station for some beer for the room. I enjoy a couple of cold ones while we unpack. Then it's time for the casino!

After checking into Excalibur we always drive down the strip (about the only time during the week we use the strip) to The Startosphere. I have no idea how this habit started but it is a ritual. The one time we failed to do this our luck was horrible for the entire week. We just don't tempt lady luck anymore.

Divide and conquer: One of us waits for luggage, the other gets the rental car and returns for pick-up.

First stop: Strip Liquors, pick-up Captain Morgan, cups and mixers and then head to the hotel (this year either BC or IP).
