Thursday, November 10th 2005.

Wife and I flew to Vegas on Northwest out of Milwuakee. Uneventful flight. Rented a car at Payless Auto. I will definitely return to Payless again. The line was about 5 minutes long (Compared to the hour that I usually wait at Alamo) and they upgraded me to an SUV because they were out of the class I rented (intermediate) $80-bucks for 4 days. After getting our car we drove straight through to Zion National Park in Utah. (2 1/2 hours). A beautiful drive.

We stayed at the lodge, which was great. Ate dinner and breakfast (Buffet)at the lodge, both were average. Went sight seeing on Thursday and to bed early. Woke up to loud thunderstorms that created a power outage. Woke up early for breakfast and went hiking to Angels Landing. An amazing hike and rewarding view at the summit. It started raining and the forecast was for rain all day...so we left a little earlier that anticipated and returned to Vegas.

Friday, November 11
Checked in at the Sahara around 2:30pm. Our room was not ready so we checked our bags and gambled. Returned at 4pm to get room and it was still not ready. I requested another room that was ready and we were put in Tangiers tower. The room was adequate a little more outdated than the other tower that we typicaly stay in. We lost a little bit of money at the Sahara all on 21. I was disappointed when I attemped to get a "funbook" from the Sahara Club and was told that they are only for new members. So they gave me a free ace to play on 21.

Went to dinner at Samba's Brazillian at the Mirage. Had 8pm reservations. (for our wedding anniversary) Was finally seated at 9pm. Politely complained and the the complaint fell on deaf ears. The food and service were outstanding once we were finally seated. I would return...but would probably try to go on a day besides Fri or Sat. We won enough money in the Mirage to pay for our dinner while we were forced to wait an hour!

We then strolled though several casiono's, the palms, Harrahs and Imperial palace. All were extremely crowed and had higher than normal table limits. Went to the Carnival court and was disappointed that there was an 8-dollar cover charge to get in. Went inside to the dueling pianos (free) and had a great time. The musician/entertainers were top notch.

Ended the night at the Westward Ho. Gambled and had what I thought was my last Chili Cheese Dog. (aka Heartburn)

Saturday, November 12

Woke up and started the day at the fashion mall. There is an "ABC" store in the mall that sells cheap water, soda, energy drinks, and macadamia nuts. All for average prices...instead of the usual 3x's the price that all the other strip stores charge. Walked from the mall to the Bellagio and everything in between. Saw Pete Rose at Ceasars Palace. Lost money at every casino I stepped foot in.

Went to dinner at Top of the World in the Stratosphere. Excellent food, drinks and service and a world class view. One appetizer, Filet for me, Sea Bass for the wife, a side of potato's each, one beer and one Martini. $160.00. I would return but for a special occasion only. Left the restaurant and went to the Hard Rock. There was a birthday party there for Kelly Osbourne. The place was packed with more skin and silicone than I saw our entire stay in vegas! There were about 30-girls wearing thongs, a bra and high heels, that came steaking out of the party every 30-minutes....they would do a lap around the casino and then go back to the party.

Left the Hardrock and went to Paris. Didn't win a hand at anything I paid. Accidentally gave the Valet parker a 20 dollar tip upon arrival! My car was parked on the sidewalk immediately outside the door and he greeted me in person when we left. Oh, well I guess I made his day! Left the Paris and went to Slots of fun for some cheap gambling....still lost.

Sunday, November 13

Woke up early and walked the casino's and shops from O'Sheas to the Tropicana. Lost all the way down the strip. Ate pizza at NYNY. The pizza was good. Had the worst Margarita of my life at the Tropicana. One sip and I set it down. Made our was back towards the Sahara and took a nap.

Bought tickets at tix 4 2nite for Hypnosis gone wild. (1/2 Price) Ate dinner at Kahunaville in TI. Food was excellent. Drinks were great. Bartenders did awesome amazing tricks, making the drinks and swinging and throwing the bottles around.

Went to the Stardust 2-hours early to turn in our ticket voucher. Got our tickets and walked to the Westward Ho for the 99 cent Heinekens and coors light. Gambled a little bit and broke even. Went to the Hypnosis show. I thought it was entertaining. After seeing the show, I don't believe the people were hypnotized...but my wife is a believer. A good time for the money.

Returned to the Ho and had several more of the 99 cent drinks. They also had free unlimited champagne for the upcoming closing. Won about 30-dollars for the first time in a few days. We watched Kareoke? for about 2-hours. It was a good time. My wife had the munchies at about 2:30am, so we returned to the deli bar for our last Ho dog and she ordered Nachos also. Ate that after we took some pictures (paid our respects)...because we knew it was last time to eat a HO dog ever. Returned to the Sahara.

Monday, November 14th
Woke up with the worst gut rott of my life. I knew the nachos would put me over the edge! Ate at the buffet. (great for the money) Packed our stuff and went to gamble in the casino a little more before leaving. I started with 40-bucks at 10:30 am. Had to leave for the airport at 11am. In a half hour, turned the 40-bucks into $550! That made the flight home a nice one. We were now even for what we started with. Returned the rental car. Arrived at the airport for a 45-minute wait in security lines. Uneventful flight home, from the 80 degree temperature...to snow and 30 degrees!

Now I get to plan another trip for a year from now!!!
