GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS=PROBLEM SOLVED
The good news is that the source for the “Las Vegas On TV” articles that I used to put in the newsletters is now back online. The “bad news” is that it comes out on Saturday, one day after I normally send out the newsletter. So rather than send a seperate email with the listings, I will post them at the Forum group under “Notes from Steve and Hunter.”
You do not have to register to read the article. The Forum Group is located here:

Take a look around while you are there..it’s a great source of informaton not found in the newsletter.
RIVIERA’S SPLASH PREPARES FOR FINAL CURTAIN
The Riviera Hotel and Casino management and Owner/Producer Meshulam Riklis announce the closing of longtime Las Vegas extravaganza “Splash” on Saturday evening, September 30.
Since its debut at the Riviera on June 21, 1985, “Splash” has been wowing audiences with an amazing union of the grand showgirl performance with intense rapid-fire variety acts. Gorgeous topless showgirls and dynamic dancers performing high-energy numbers with choreography ranging from jazz to classical dance have shared the stage with modern tribute artists, hilarious comedy jugglers, world-class ice skaters, international specialty acts and motorcycle daredevils.
At the core of every Splash performance, since its inception, the entertainment blockbuster had highlighted dance numbers that paid homage to the music and moves of pop-icons as well as the movies and stage dramas of Hollywood and Broadway. Always current, today’s break dancing blends beautifully with nostalgic moments, trendy stars and outrageous retro scenes from the seventies.
The Riviera regrets this is happening and will miss the excellent show, the great performances and Mr. Riklis. The show has been his “personal dream come true.”
Splash will always be known as the classic Las Vegas variety extravaganza with a history of amazing dancers, performers and specialty acts, impressing audiences in the true Las Vegas style!

Harrah’s Entertainment executives have made clear in confidential meetings that no one should expect an announcement about the redevelopment of its center-Strip properties until mid-December, sources say. The area includes Paris Las Vegas, Bally’s, the Flamingo, the Imperial Palace and Harrah’s, as well as Caesars Palace. Harrah’s is likely to announce a 10-year master plan that spreads risk and capital expenditures over time. Executives have said publicly they expect to end up with an all-contained resort, perhaps a Disneyland of gambling. Scuttlebutt also suggests a corporate name change to Caesars, based on its brand-name strength. Harrah’s shares have been under pressure, but analysts expect demand to surge based on the progress of its Total Rewards program at Caesars Palace and international development prospects.

The Floor is on Fire.
‘Burn the Floor’ opens at the Luxor and brings ballroom dancing to the Strip. By Mike Weatherford/Las Vegas Review Journal
Some performers find Las Vegas audiences a tough crowd: Sleepy. Distracted. Tipsy. But that’s nothing for the dancers in “Burn the Floor.”
You see, most of the fleet-footed stars of the Latin and ballroom dance revue were plucked from the world of competitive dancing. And when you get to the finals, “a lot of your audience is the competitors that you’ve beaten. They’re all watching you with prying eyes,” says Damon Sugden, one of the 18 dancers in the new revue at Luxor.
“Burn” is ballroom dancing’s answer to “Riverdance.” It has been around since 1999, but only waltzed onto the Strip briefly in 2003, with a hastily booked week at Paris Las Vegas. Now the revue lands at Luxor through at least Oct. 26, where it will surround a schedule of weekend concert acts.

Karaoke Club at Imperial Palace Celebrates Third Anniversary.
Gaming. Shows. Buffets. Karaoke. Among the many attractions Las Vegas has to offer is singing along with prerecorded music as the lyrics appear on a screen – so popular that the Karaoke Club at the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino is celebrating its third anniversary this month – and still going strong.
Tourists, locals and celebrities flock to the crowd-pleasing stage to croon a tune, belt out a ballad or vocalize a verse from more than 15,000 selections. The daring even memorialize the occasion with a DVD of their performance. DJ Rusty Varney keeps the talented and not-so-talented performers at a steady pace and jokes with the audience, occasionally soliciting their participation by holding up signs with various sayings such as “applause,” “yikes,” “sexy” or “yee-haw.”
The Karaoke Club opens 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is conveniently located on the third floor of the Imperial Palace next to the Sports Bar and near Burger Palace, voted eighth best hamburger in Las Vegas.
MGM GRAND: Dixie Chicks Bring “The Accidents & Accusations” World Tour To MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m.
Dixie Chicks, the largest-selling female group in music history, will bring their 2006 world tour, The Accidents & Accusations Tour, to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a special Thanksgiving weekend performance Saturday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. Pete Yorn is scheduled to open the show.
Tickets priced at $89.50 and $49.50, not including applicable service charges or taxes, went on sale Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Tickets also will be sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (Tower Records/WOW!, Smith’s Food and Drug Centers, Robinsons-May stores and Ritmo Latino) and ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call Ticketmaster at (702) 474-4000. Tickets also are available for purchase at www.mgmgrand.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
The North American leg of the tour was named after a line in “Easy Silence,” a song on their highly anticipated new album, Taking the Long Way. In addition to playing songs from their new album, Dixie Chicks will perform all of their previous hits from their multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning albums Wide Open Spaces (1998), Fly (1999) and their 2003 release Home.
Their “A-list” touring band includes David Grissom (Joe Ely, John Mellencamp), who is reprising his 2003 role as leader of the Dixie Chicks band, acoustic guitarist extraordinaire Keith Sewell (Ricky Skaggs), Wallflowers drummer Fred Eltringham, Black Crowes/Chris Robinson guitarist Audley Freed, west coast keyboard studio legend Larry Knechtel (Simon & Garfunkel, Mamas & Papas, The Beach Boys), former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg, pedal steel player Pete Finney (Doug Sahm, Alison Moorer), Rod Stewart violinist Janna Jacoby and cellist John Krovoza.
When asked what fans can expect from this year’s tour, lead singer Natalie Maines said it will be “more of an old-style rock show, not so much about theatrics and props but just about the music.” Maines also noted “to rock out we used to have to pull out a cover tune, so it’s nice to have your own songs to fill that part of the set.”
The North American dates for The Accidents & Accusations Tour are promoted by AEG Live. For more information on Dixie Chicks’ tour and new album visit www.dixiechicks.msn.com and www.dixiechicks.com. For press materials and artwork go to www.frontpagepublicity.com/dixiechicks.

Lock Up A Win By Bill Burton
I have to admit that one of the reasons I enjoy visiting the casino is the opportunity to meet and talk with other players. I’m outgoing by nature and have no problem chatting it up with my fellow players. Besides making new friends, I get the opportunity to find out what other players think and on occasion this gives me some good material for an article. Last week I had just such an encounter.
I was playing some video poker in a multi-game machine and a woman sat down next to me and began playing the slot machine. I started talking with her and through the course of our conversation I found out her name was Carolynn. She said she was on vacation and decided to visit the casino to play some slots and enjoy herself for a few hours. About twenty minutes after sitting down I heard her shriek.

Show Review: Carrot Top by Rick Garman
It’s probably unfair to say that I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Carrot Top’s show at Luxor but there it is. I mean, let’s be honest: when you try to rate comic genius, Carrot Top, to most people, will fall somewhere on the list near Howie Mandel and Yakov Smirnov, people whose careers made them into bigger punch lines than the ones they actually delivered in their shows. But Carrot Top’s manic energy, off-the-wall observations, and generally good natured sense of humor make this show an entertaining diversion. It’s not the best comedy show in the world and not even the best in Vegas (that would be Rita Rudner), but it made me laugh and that has to be worth something.
For the uninitiated, Carrot Top (given name Scott Thompson) is mostly known as the guy with the wild head of Sideshow Bob orange hair who was featured heavily in the stand-up comedy boom of the ‘90s, did a few movies, a lot of phone company commercials, and relies heavily on props to make people laugh. That hair is still there as are the props, filling trunks that take up a big chunk of the Luxor stage.
What comes out of the trunks is better than the cliché arrow through the head wackiness but not by a lot. You must enjoy things like a special envelope to mail your tax returns in shaped like a hand giving the middle finger salute or a special microphone for a certain (allegedly) drug-addled singer shaped like a bong to get into the spirit of things here. That sounds less funny on paper but the non-stop, rapid-fire, random silliness of the whole thing is infectious.
The entire show is not just about props, of course. He also uses video and sound effects and even, occasionally, actually tells jokes. Country music and NASCAR are big targets but he doesn’t discriminate, poking fun at just about every identifiable person and group you can think of including himself.
There are a few wince-inducing ventures into the tasteless but nothing went all the way to hateful, a welcome relief considering the acts of most Vegas stand-up acts who rely heavily on misogyny and homophobia to appeal to a lowest common denominator. There were a few jokes a the expense of women and gays but the worst they ever seemed was tired (“Brokeback Mountain jokes? Really?) and not actually mean-spirited.
So yes, Carrot Top’s show was surprisingly entertaining and at $54 a relative bargain. Now if he can just do something about that hair.

Braxton not in sync.
By Jerry Fink/Las Vegas Sun
Given time, multiple Grammy Award winner Toni Braxton could have one of the best shows in town.
The sultry siren of R&B has everything going for her - a voice that reaches inside you and caresses your soul; gorgeous features; an engaging personality; excellent backup band, singers and dancers; and the unflagging support of the Flamingo Las Vegas.
But after a month, “Toni Braxton: Revealed” continues to be plagued with some pesky problems, both technical and artistic.

How To Play Four Card Poker by Bill Burton.
Four Card Poker is another poker based game developed by Roger Snow of Shuffle Master. It is played on the same type of table and utilizes the Shuffle Master automatic shuffling machine that is used for Three Card Poker. There are some similarities but there are some distinct differences in the game and strategies.
Four Card Poker is similar to Three Card Poker in the fact that it is two games in one. The base game is the Ante-Play where you compete against the dealer as you do in Three Card Poker. The second portion of the games is called Aces Up and you receive payment on a hand of a pair of aces or better based on the pay table.

NO ORDINARY DRAG SHOW AT LUCKY CHENG’S LAS VEGAS
From: www.vegas4locals.com
Las Vegas officially has everything a person could ever want to do for entertainment, now that there is a restuarant where you are served and entertained by drag queens!
Lucky Cheng’s, which recently opened on the Las Vegas Strip, is the reputed “drag queen capital of the world”. Hailing from New York City, where the original restaurant opened in 1993 in Manhattan’s East Village, Lucky Cheng’s offers delicious panasian cuisine, cabaret, and comedy by outrageous drag queens. The now-infamous establishment caught media attention and became an overnight sensation when Prince Albert of Monaco dined “a la drag”. It is also a favorite of the gossip columns, as it attracts many celebrities such as Ashley Olsen, Lenny Kravitz, Britney Spears, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Johhy Knoxville.
A New York institution, the Greyline tour bus announcers point it out several times a day. This is the restaurant you have seen on Access Hollywood, Growing Up Gotti, The People’s Court, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Howard Stern, Jerry Springer, Sally Jesse Raphael, Bloomberg television, E, Extra, MTV, Vh1, HBO, Blind Date, all of the New York news channels, including CNN, New York 1, ABC, CBS, NBC, Channel 11, and Fox 5.
Lucky Cheng’s is no ordinary drag show. Forget what you know about lip synching female impersonators. The Lucky Cheng’s girls will have you laughing to tears with their irreverent sense of humor and perfect comedic timing. For those who dare, willing audience participants become part of the Lucky Cheng’s show.
Lucky Cheng’s is centrally located at 3049 Las Vegas Boulevard South, in the rear of the Gold Key Shops, just north of the Wynn Hotel, off Cathedral Way, across from the big church.

OUTSIDE THE SHOEBOX! LIBERACE’S FABULOUS FOOTWEAR
From:www.vegas4locals.com
The Liberace Museum is known for the magnificent, world-famous collection of pianos, cars, costumes and jewelry that established Liberace as the legendary and beloved “Mr. Showmanship.” For the first time ever, a collection of Liberace’s elaborate footwear will also be on display in a special exhibit called “Outside The Shoebox! Liberace’s Fabulous Footwear.”
The dazzling exhibit will be on display from Sept. 10 through the end of the year in the Costume Gallery at the museum. It will feature some of the most famous and recognizable shoes that Liberace wore while performing in his memorable costumes.
Included in the exhibit is the original pair of the mass-produced white oxford shoe with red and blue leather, detailed with rhinestones to resemble the American flag. This shoe completed the famous red, white and blue costume that first debuted in 1972 at Caesar’s Palace.
Other highlights of the shoe exhibit include:
*Red sequin sneaker – red sequins completely cover this Keds-style sneaker, which also features a silver “L” at the back quarter of each shoe. Liberace wore these shoes in 1966 for a skit on “The Mike Douglas Show.”
*Black patent shoe – the slip-on shoe with crystal rhinestones at the toe and heel was worn in 1972 with a beaded black tailcoat for his Third Royal Command performance for Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne.
*Red patent platform boot - the original of the ankle boot mass-produced by shoe company Nunn Bush, Liberace wore these boots during his stage show at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1976.
*White boot with pastel details – this fabric ankle boot was embellished with beads and rhinestones, and worn with a matching costume during “Liberace Live,” a show performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 1983.
Award-winning Hollywood costume designer Karan Feder, who worked on such films as “A River Runs Through It” and televisions shows like “The Wonder Years” and “Golden Girls,” compiled the Liberace shoe collection and will serve as guest curator for the exhibit.
The Liberace Museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 pm on Sundays. Admission is $12.50 for adults and $8.50 for seniors age 65 and over, as well as for students with valid ID. Museum members and children ages 10 and under are free. Locals can also attend exhibits for free on the second Sunday of each month.
Liberace transported audiences to a dazzling world of color, jovial music, glittering costumes, and humor. His legend lives on in The Liberace Museum, which houses his collections of rare and antique pianos, classic cars, famous sequined and bejeweled costume wardrobe, glittering stage jewelry and rare antiques, as well as his private papers, memorabilia and now his “Fabulous Footwear.”
Since 1976, The Liberace Museum has been the key-funding arm for The Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts. The Foundation has helped talented students pursue careers in the performing and creative arts through scholarship assistance and has awarded scholarship grants to more than 2,200 students at some 100 universities, schools and educational organizations.
The Liberace Museum is located at 1775 E. Tropicana Ave., at Spencer Street.
Curbing the Impulse
By closing the marriage bureau at night, Vegas loses a defining characteristic.
By Joshua Longobardy/Las Vegas Weekly
To drive south on the I-15 into Las Vegas, on the cusp of Saturday morning, is to tail countless cars with California license plates. To stroll down the Strip at midnight is to see both locals and tourists wide-eyed, crazed with spontaneity, and under the spell of the city’s lights and its ambiance of sheer fantasy, many miles removed from their natural character. And to walk through the Fremont Street experience during that werewolf’s hour on a Saturday night is to see innumerable lovers arm-in-arm, uninhibited in their affections for one another.
Or so it was this past weekend—August 26 through August 27—which on account of a new ordinance passed by the Clark County Commission August 16 was an historical two days. For it marked the last time adults struck by the mysterious ways of love, or intoxicated by the unique airs of Las Vegas (or both), could obtain a Clark County marriage after midnight.
As of Wednesday, August 30, Las Vegas, a city that has in part been made distinct by its issuances of marital permits in Saturday’s and Sunday’s (and holidays’) wee morning hours, will discontinue its graveyard operation at the downtown marriage license bureau. From now on it will operate every day from 8 a.m. to midnight.

LINE PASS: The House that Pure Built.
Social House combines dining with lounge atmosphere.
By Martin Stein/Las Vegas Weekly
Pure Management Group, the company behind nightlife successes such as Pure, Coyote Ugly and Tangerine, takes its first step into the world of restaurants August 31 with the opening of Social House.
The restaurant covers three levels, with guests able to start their night of sushi, sake and socializing in the casino-floor lounge. The intimate space is bedecked with Asian touches, as is the restaurant as a whole. Keeping the same hours of 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. as the rest of the operation, the lounge is sure to find itself busy until the wee hours. Off to the side is a private elevator that will whisk celebrities up to the top level, where their own dining room awaits. The rest of us proles will have to take the winding staircase, but PMG has made sure we’ll enjoy the trip. The stairwell walls are made up of highly polished, bronze safety deposit boxes—some of them open—which not only give the walk a magical feel but also are supposed to attract luck and money, according to some Asian beliefs (winding paths are also believed to confuse evil spirits, so if you’re not having luck at the tables, we recommend a trip upstairs).

NORM: Gourmet’s Top 50 taps newcomers.
Three Las Vegas newcomers rank among Gourmet magazine’s Top 50 American restaurants, with Joel Robuchon at The Mansion cracking the Top 10 at No. 5.
Listed at No. 21 is Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, the seafood eatery at Wynn Las Vegas, while Restaurant Guy Savoy, the newest addition at Caesars Palace, is No. 36.
With the three honorees, Las Vegas has tripled its presence on the list, which is compiled every five years.
The lone local entry in 2001 was Julian Serrano’s Picasso at Bellagio.
Seven other chefs who made Gourmet’s Top 50 have restaurants here: No. 3, Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry in Yountville, Calif. (Bouchon, The Venetian); No. 4, Spago, Wolfgang Puck, Beverly Hills (Spago, Forum Shops at Caesars; Chinois, Forum Shops at Caesars; Trattoria Del Lupo, Mandalay Bay; Wolfgang Puck’s Bar & Grill, MGM Grand and Postrio, The Venetian); No. 9, Daniel Boulud’s Daniel, New York (Daniel, Wynn), and No. 13, Charlie Trotter, Chicago (Aureole, Mandalay Bay).
Mario Batali, the only chef with two restaurants in the Top 50 with Babbo at No. 17 and Vetri and No. 25, both in New York (Babbo is going in The Venetian in January and an unnamed-as-yet eatery is going in Palazzo, The Venetian’s sister property that opens late next year); No. 27, Jean-Georges, New York (Prime, Bellagio); No. 34, Gramercy Tavern, Tom Colicchio and Danny Meyer, New York (Colicchio operates Craftsteak at MGM Grand).
Gourmet said Robuchon “is generally considered the greatest chef in the world” and his restaurant at The Mansion is “truly incredible.”
Paul Bartolotta’s gem at Wynn offers “the widest variety of seafood this side of the Amalfi Coast … cooked in every imaginable way.”
Gourmet’s top two: Alinea of Chicago and Alice Waters’ Chez Panisse.

MIKE WEATHERFORD: Rickles bids farewell to Stardust.
One of Don Rickles’ signature lines is, “It’s not the money, it’s the love of you people.
“Saying goodbye to the Stardust last weekend, the 80-year-old comedian sounded kinda like he meant it.
“Mr. Warmth” paid his onstage goodbyes to the Desert Inn back in 2000. He is about to outlast another of the few casinos that were here when he started working the Sahara in May 1959.
Rickles must be setting a record here. What other headliner has worked the Strip year in and year out for 47 years? Instead of the usual grand entrance — storming in from the wings to commence chewing tail — Rickles first made a well-deserved victory lap on the semicircular ramp extending from the Stardust stage, shaking hands with the faithful.

DOUBLE-DECKER BUSES: Deuce may soon be loose.
CAT planning expansion of service throughout valley.
The double-decker buses known as The Deuce could soon be coming to a neighborhood bus route near you.
Citizens Area Transit is planning a major expansion of its double-decker bus program, with plans to expand bilevel bus service throughout the Las Vegas Valley and far beyond The Deuce’s original route along Las Vegas Boulevard South to downtown Las Vegas.
It’s likely that nearly half of CAT’s fleet of roughly 300 buses will be of the two-level variety within two years, allowing the transit agency to carry more riders in less roadway space than other high-capacity coaches.

MIKE WEATHERFORD: Late-night show at Golden Nugget relies on cyberspace.
Producer Jon Conway offers a sneak peak at the Golden Nugget’s new late-show star by lifting the cover of his laptop computer.
No, it’s not just a photo. It’s really her: A computer-generated vixen, all exaggerated comic-book anatomy in all the right places. The interactive cyber-babe — viewed with 3-D glasses — will be a featured part of “Cover Girls.” A guy from the audience will get to choose her name, hair color, etc. (And yes, there’s a cyber-dude as well).
That’s just one of the ideas the British producer believes will elevate the new show from the pack of topless competition on the Strip. “I’ve seen all the stuff in town,” he says. This one, he says is “novel and different,” and “not just all about girls.”

PARTY LIKE IT IS THE MEDIEVAL TIMES
Ever think you would have liked to have lived in medieval times? You know, the knight-in-shining-armor fantasy. Now you can as the 13th Annual Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival at Sunset Park gets underway Oct. 13-15. The park, located at the corner of Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue will be transformed into a medieval kingdom with lavishly costumed knights, knaves, fine ladies and wenches. What more could you ask for?
You’ll be able to enjoy live music, historical re-enactments, jousting tournaments, stage and strolling performers, medieval pageantry, hand-made craft demonstrations and sales, and food and beverage vendors. Concerts on Friday and Saturday evening will feature nationally known Celtic bands.
A royal parade featuring kings, queens, warriors and peasants takes place Saturday and Sunday only. The Festival offers full contact jousting tournaments on horseback; no-holds-barred gladiator battles; black powder demonstrations, strolling minstrels, contortionists, sheep herding; magicians, storytellers, comedians, jugglers and flame eaters; belly dancers, trained parrots, pirates, singers, musicians and a variety of other entertainers.
Additional attractions include rides, bow and arrow and axe target games, medieval barber and surgeon demonstrations, Renaissance guilds, historic crafting demonstrations and full-contact jousting. A Renaissance Village with encampments of German, Italian, Ottoman Turk, French, Celtic, Polish and British military will demonstrate daily life in the field including: household tasks, forging weapons, family relations, craft making and cooking. Each day of the festival, these military units meet on the “Field of Honor” and battle on horseback and on foot.
Over 200 artisans and craftsmen from throughout the United States and Canada will demonstrate and sell their wares. Included in this year’s festival are; pewter, gold and silver smiths, black smiths, stained glass designers, costume makers, wood workers, toy makers, leather workers, perfume blenders, potters, sword, dagger and armor makers, stone carvers and many other vendors with unusual hand crafted treasures. Vendors will also sell authentic period foods including turkey legs, shepherd’s pie or a full English Feast.
Warning: No carry-in food or beverages, pets, lawn chairs or weapons are allowed. Weapons? Who the hell is going to carry a weapon to a festival, or is that a stupid question when you see what’s happening in the world today? Anyway, you can bring one sealed bottle of water. Festival times are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 per day or $25 for a three-day pass for adults and $5 per day or $10 for a three-day pass for seniors and students. Ages 5 and younger are free. For more info, call (702) 455-8200 or visit www.lvrenfair.com. This is truly a fun event and has become a staple of our local entertainment scene each year.

Bottle Service goes Bling
We’ve long asked the question, what’s next in bottle service? While operators try to find the answer to progress the vodka bottle, one company may have found the answer while going in a different direction, water! The high-priced Bling H2O comes complete in a 750 ml frosted glass bottle, cork stopper, and, get this, hand applied, genuine Swarovski crystals. Around the globe, celebs and sport stars alike are passing on booze and instead choosing high-priced bottled water that often costs more than $100 per bottle (retail). “I created Bling H2O because I felt there was a need for a bottled water that exemplified popular culture,” explains Kevin G. Boyd, a Hollywood producer and writer. “Bling H2O is to bottled water what Rolls Royce is to automobiles; a premium product with premium packaging that merits a premium price. Bling is a stand-alone beverage as well as the perfect compliment to your favorite cocktail.” We know what you’re thinking but seriously, Bling H20 is catching on across the globe. For example, in Paris, France it’s served to high-end clientele at the Louis Vuitton flagship store. Stateside, celebrities like Oscar award winner Jamie Foxx, hotel heiress Paris Hilton, N.B.A. world champion Shaquille O’Neal and rocker extraordinaire Bono, are just a few who have caught onto the hype. “A lot of times when you have some water, people are like, ‘You’re drinking water?’,” Foxx told Entertainment Tonight. “Instead, you say, ‘Naw man, I’m Blinging!” Since the product is brand new to Las Vegas, it hasn’t appeared in any Strip-side nightclubs… yet. With a retail price point that could hover around the $125-$150 mark for a 750 ml of water, you know it’s only a matter of time! As Boyd and his partners, Luins Williams and Maureen McQuiston, are asking, “Do you Bling?”

Twisted Hallows
Twisted Sister lead singer Dee Snider has big plans for Halloween and the Hard Rock Hotel. At a “secret” press conference (talk about an oxymoron) last week, the rocker announced that his 18-piece gothic rock orchestra would be performing Van Helsing’s Curse at The Joint on Oct. 20 and 21, surely setting the tone for the Halloween season. Making a truly cryptic entrance, a hearse arrived at the Hard Rock Hotel and six ghastly pallbearers carried a coffin into The Joint, of course in the coffin was a spooky Snider. The Hard Rock Hotel will be celebrating Van Helsing’s Curse and Halloween with food and drink specials throughout October; memorabilia cases dedicated to classic horror-movies and even new sexy Halloween costumes for the cocktail staff. We’ve been telling you for two years now that Las Vegas owns Halloween, nice to see the Hard Rock working hard to capitalize on it!
