Has anyone done a review on the Wynn “Buffet”? I’ve heard a good review and several bad reviews on LE Reve have you
any more information on that show? Can you tell me anything about the afternoon Tea at the Four Seasons and any of the other hotels that offer afternoon Teas?

My husband and I are going to Vegas over Labor Day weekend (Friday – Monday) for our third trip there together. We are booked at Bally’s. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations while staying there and possibly how to get upgraded to one of ther suites without upgrading the cost. Would also like to hear recommendations for fun places to play $10 blackjack. We don’t mind losing as much if we could just get a dealer with a good sense of humor. Would love it even more if we could find tables where everyone knows how to play the game right. Any avice would be greatly appreciated.

I am heading out to Las Vegas in August( as a friend of mine said “Vegas in August? What’s next, hell?”). Staying again at the Golden Nugget. I’m hearing mixed things if there have been any changes going on since the
sale. The reservation agent I spoke with said everything is pretty much the same. Has anyone stayed there recently? It’s been over a year for me. Any thoughts?

Hi. We will be moving to Las Vegas from San Diego at the end of June. I belong to many of the slot clubs including Station Casinos, Harrah’s (diamond member), Coast Casinos, MGM group. What changes am I likely to see in the offers I receive? Would I be better off especially in regard to Harrah’s in continuing to use my old address for awhile and having offers forwarded to me for hotel rooms etc.? thanks in advance for your expertise,

Just wondering if you, or the readers, know of a place Downtown that an older couple can go to dance the night away. Perhaps a small lounge ?

Hi: Thanks for all the replies I received regarding Laughlin,NV. We stay at Harris Hotel and also the food was very good, the first night I won 1600 so I was able to play on their money for the few days we were in town. Went over
to the Gold Nugget because the odds for black jack were alot better. Stopped off at the Flamingo also and won a little, but nothing can beat Las Vegas area.

Production weaves its magic at Greek Isles
By Jerry Fink
For a town that prides itself these days in catering to adults, Las Vegas has some pretty darn good family entertainment.
One of those that may be overlooked because of its location is the “World’s Greatest Magic Show” at the Greek Isles, which features a cavalcade of award-winning illusionists who don’t rely on sex to sell their talent.
The cast of world-class acts varies from time to time, but producers usually manage to engage a variety of interesting performers who are among the best in their field.
In May the International Magicians Society named the production Show of the Year and singled out several of the regular performers as recipients of its Merlin Award.

STARS ON THE LAKE
You’re in for a unique experience this summer and it takes place at Lake Las Vegas Resort, a 30-minute ride from the Strip, but well worth the drive. I’m talking about the resort’s “Stars on the Lake” Concert Series that is featuring Glenn Frey of the Eagles on July 8: Natalie Cole July 30; Michael Bolton Aug. 6; Kenny G Sept. 9; and Vanessa Williams with the Las Vegas Philharmonic Sept. 23.
Tickets range from $65 to $100. For more info and to purchase tickets, call (702) 795-SHOW (795-7469), email starsonthelake at lakelasvegas.com or log onto www.starsonthelake.com.
Aside from the great talent, what makes this so unique is that the entertainers perform on a floating stage on Reflection Bay at the resort. You watch the performances while sitting on the shorelines of MonteLago Village and
Reflection Bay. Take it from me, it’s spectacular.

GET FAMOUS
Wanna be famous? The Imperial Palace on center Strip has been going through a facelift lately, and as such, would like a new face to represent it. Here’s where you come in. The casino is searching for a spokesmodel to bring to life
its animated character Suzi Sake. The real life “Suzi” will represent the hotel in its advertising, promotions and public functions, so as well as being beautiful, you’ll be a very busy girl.
But before you run to your mirror and say, “I’m Suzi” you better make sure you are 5′10″ or taller with an outgoing, publicity-minded personality and look great. If you think you fit the bill, submit a headshot and full body shot
with resume to Suzi Sake Search, Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, PO Box 97979, Las Vegas, NV 89191. Good luck!
And speaking of the IP, Hats off to Lois Mahalia of Santa Barbara, who won the celebrity impersonator contest at the Imperial Palace and will now appear as the opening act for Legends in Concert July 7-9 with her rendition of Whitney
Houston. The “Legend of the Year” contest was the culmination of the hotel’s “Be A Legend” Celebrity Impersonator Karaoke Contest held through 2004.
But if you’re sitting there feeling sorry for yourself because you believe that you could have won if only you’d known about it, stop your whining. The contest continues this year, with the next show scheduled for August 18. For more
information on the contest, go to the hotel’s Web site at www.imperialpalace.com.

It’s so hip, they’re ‘humbled’ at Pure
They’re in a state of pure joy at Pure nightclub. The cavernous Caesars Palace club, which opened on New Year’s Eve, was listed as No. 1 on E! Entertainment’s “20 Hippest Hotspots” show, which aired Monday night.
Las Vegas had five clubs among the top 18, and three in the top 10. The Palms’ Rain was ranked third, Light at the Bellagio was seventh, Body English was 13th and Mix at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay was 18th. Pure beat out Bungalow 8,
the exclusive club in New York City.
“We’re humbled. It couldn’t have happened without a team effort,” said Judy Odierna, club spokeswoman.
The team includes managing partner Robert Frey, along with Shaquille O’Neal, Celine Dion and Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, all of whom Frey brought in as investors.

MIKE WEATHERFORD: Tempers flare as ‘Tropical Passions’ abruptly closes.
An audience at the Sahara’s “Tropical Passions” came very close to a big surprise.
The Cuban big-band revue imploded June 23 when musicians faced with bouncing checks forced the hand of producer Recaredo Gutierrez, telling him they wanted to be paid upfront through July 3, the date they were given in a closing
notice on June 19.
When Gutierrez refused, the musicians planned to start that evening’s show and then abruptly stop playing and walk off the stage. Cooler heads prevailed, and band members were convinced that burning an innocent audience wouldn’t help
anyone. Instead, they decided to walk before the show started.

What is Money Management by Bill Burton
Money management is a term that has different meanings depending upon which players you are talking with. For some players the term money management is used to describe a betting system or a way of placing bets that they hope will somehow give them a way to beat the house. Other players use the term to describe how they manage their bankroll.

The Secrets of the Field
by Larry Edell
Pssst…! Wanna know a secret? How about the secret of the field bet in craps? As you might know, the field bet is a one roll bet. So if any number other than 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12 rolls, you lose. The other numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 roll a total of 26 times while the field numbers roll only 20 times. On the surface, it looks like the field is a bad bet. Wanna know how craps pros use the field to make more money? Let’s find out how! Craps professionals know that their winning depends on streaks. When a positive streak occurs, they bet more. When a negative one appears, they bet less. When you play the field, you can determine whether to increase or decrease your bets, and then use a rotating field progression. In order to accomplish this efficiently, you will need a win goal and a loss limit. Let’s say your buy-in is $500, so your starting unit on the field should be $5. You should not make any other bets and you should quit when you’ve won or lost the same amount – approximately 30% of your buy in, or $150 in this
case. You’ll need to keep betting on the field without missing any bets. This means you have to bet before the come out as well, and be 100% sure the dealers know your bet is on. If you make a bet and the dealer even thinks it is off then you won’t get paid. To start, take a red chip and place it on the field. If you win, increase your bet by one unit ($5). If you win again, increase it by one unit again. So now you have $15 on the field. If you lose the next bet, just go down one unit, so you’re now at $10. You are not doubling your bet on a win, even if you hit a two or twelve. You are going up one unit when you win and going down one unit when you lose. If you have $50 on the field and the twelve (or two) hits and you win $100, just increase your next bet by $5 to $55 and pocket the rest. Your win goal of $150 means the money in your pocket plus your money on the table. So if you started out with $500 and now have a combination of $150 on the table plus the chips on your rack then it’s time to stop. If the shooter happens to hit a string of non field numbers, you are limited in your losses, because you are decreasing your bet by one unit on a loss until you hit zero. Then you’ll start betting one unit ($5) again. At zero, if you lose four bets in a row you are down $20 (4 x $5). If you then win the next four bets in a row you are up $50 ($5 +$10+$15+$20). Remember, you will keep
betting until you either win or lose 1/3 of your buy in. The most important part of this is to make sure your field bet is always “on” before the come out. Once you tell the dealers what you are doing, they will help you with this, but when you first start out betting, make sure they know your bet is always “on.” You don’t want to lose money even though you made the correct bet! Pssst…! Now you know the secret of betting on the field!

THREE STRIKES AND YOURE …IN THE MONEY!
Last Saturday, a guest in the Las Vegas Hiltons SuperBook bet a seven-team
baseball parlay that included three “run line” wagers. Run lines are a baseball
wager that a certain team will win by two runs or more, or not lose by more
than two runs. This player wagered $100 and received a whopping $13,000 back for
his predictions. Who says baseball is the least popular betting sport?

WHY WAIT IN LINE?
Convenience is everything. Thats why self-comping is the perfect answer for
Resorts International Club players who earn points and want to use them for
dining. At the Las Vegas Hilton, self-comping is now the norm; instead of waiting
in line at the Players Club Center to get a comp slip, players go to their
favorite Hilton restaurant and hand their card to the cashier who deducts the
comp dollars from their account. Think of it as self-redemption. (Only two
outlets cannot be used: Mistrals and Vegas Subs).
THERES THE RUB
Can you play and relax? Not at the same time, but close enough. Six massage
chairs, three in the SuperBook and three in the convention foyer, provide
guests with three minutes of relaxation for $1. Guests wont stand for this service.
THE CENTENNIALS IN THE CHIPS
A limited edition of $5 chips celebrating the Las Vegas Centennial has been
issued by the Las Vegas Hilton. The chips feature the Welcome to Fabulous Las
Vegas sign and can either be played or collected.

NEW FACE OF GAMING: Slots gain local ace in Agassi.
Machines with tennis star to appear in casinos soon.
For professional tennis star Andre Agassi, image has been everything.
Beginning today, the lifelong Las Vegas resident’s image will be emblazoned
on slot machines that will soon be in casinos throughout Nevada and eventually
in other gaming jurisdictions.
The Agassi slot machine, produced and distributed by Aristocrat Technologies,
will be a penny-based game. It will have a tennis theme and graphics to
complement its secondary bonuses and progressive jackpot elements.
But the games also have a twist: a percentage of the slot machines’ proceeds
and licensing fees will be funneled to Agassi’s Las Vegas-based charitable
foundation, which benefits many Southern Nevada organizations and programs for
children.
